And I hope you get a a good time out of this. Yeah. Time was had. And hello, Shane. Shane says you don't have to jiggle the doorknob when you put the key in as well. You know what that made me think of when he said that? What's that? It made me think of Ace Ventura when Mr. Shickadance comes over. Which we knew him, the actor that played him, much better when he was in Breaking Bad. Hector Salamanca. Salamanca. Oh, my gosh. Before that, he was Mr. Shickadance. Ventura. Yes, Satan? I heard animals in here, Ventura. They are scratching around. Ah! Oh, love it. I never bring my work home with me, sir. Oh, it's such a quotable movie. I love it. Oh, it is. It is. So tonight we're going to discuss Marvel and DC a little bit. And are they... are they finally going to make superhero movies relevant again? Cause they've had a rough go of it the last couple of years, especially in my personal opinion, the movies have not been good. Um, and it's funny as we were discussing this and we're not going to break down the fantastic four, Bo and Kevin have not seen it yet. Uh, Jess and I have seen now seen it twice. We took my son yesterday. He wanted to see it. So we went right back to it. Um, but uh enjoyable if you if you have not seen it um But we've all seen Superman. These guys probably discuss that a little bit more because we saw it right when it came out. And my short-term memory for movies is atrocious now. I saw it the Wednesday after it came out. What's that? I saw it the Wednesday. I think it was like a weekday after. It's probably around the same time y'all guys saw it. I saw it a few days after you did. But I can remember it. It's pretty memorable there. Yeah. There are a lot of things I remember, but I don't remember all the nuances. So, uh, it's one of those movies that granted, I know we're, we're not quite there to get into it yet, but it's one of those movies that you can just keep going and seeing it and see new stuff. Yeah, really? Yeah. It's one of those movies. It's like, I don't like to call it an onion, but it's kind of like, you know, the details are like an onion. Onions have layers. Nuggets have layers. Superman has layers. So do cakes. But yeah, so we'll go ahead and tell you we're going to spoil Superman. Of course, this has been what? Superman's been out, what, three weeks now? One month. One month tomorrow. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Wow. Yeah, so technically they opened it on July tenth. Yeah. For this early showing. So yeah, one month today, really. Mm-hmm. So what we'll discuss Superman and we'll talk a little bit about unspoiler stuff, not spoilers about fantastic. Yeah. Yeah. Um, love to hear your thoughts on, on superhero movies. We've not done a movie review like this in a while. Um, so we're just kind to, um, we're, we just wanted to, to, to chit chat about it. And, uh, we've, we've got dragon con coming up. So, um, Um, that had my mind kind of going a little bit, you know, all the different costumes and stuff we may see from these new movies. Um, and then of course, like I said, just those two movies being released almost back to back from each studio and seeing how they stack up to past. I will tell you this. Like I said, I will talk this, but it made me think. Superhero movies have come back, but I'm going to tell you, I know this is a curve. I just thought about this, but Netflix had something come out that is like throwing a curveball, maybe. They got people less associated with superhero movies, but K-pop Demon Hunters. I have to bring this up while I'm thinking about it. Yes, there's a movie on Netflix. It's an animated movie called K-pop Demon Hunters. It's basically, Jess, you need to watch it as much as your love for boy bands and stuff. It's... It's essentially, it's a, it's a, it's the, I'm sorry. I didn't mean, I'm completely derailed the podcast. Okay. Yes. It's, it's, it's basically, uh, you've got, there's a duo of three girls. There are these things called the hunters or whatever. Basically it's good versus evil where they are singers, where they are, they are protecting the underworld of demons coming. So the demons, demons get cool. So they're like, we're going to fight fire with fire. So they send a boy band. Oh, okay. Yeah. completely sorry off topic but yeah that's the thing right now I thought you were steering towards happy gilmore when you talked about netflix releases I wasn't oh I did watch I did watch happy gilmore too so it's good yes very good anyway sorry I didn't mean it off topic yes yeah yeah the boy band is demons yes they are demons so yeah okay okay I'm just saying this is this is this is one thing like you got me thinking talking about how like things are going on but yeah this is this is one thing it's kind of superhero it's not but yeah Okay. Yeah. Anyway, back to Superman. I'm so sorry. ADD kicked in on me. Squirrel. I just, while you were talking. Lizard. Lizard. I skimmed through the trailer while you were talking and I am a hundred percent. And I'm watching this because I listened to some of the, uh, the audio from that. And then, then some of my favorite, there are definitely some artists from some of my favorite K-pop bands that are actually singing to that. I can tell I picked it up immediately. And I was like, Oh man. Okay. I'm surprised you've missed out on it. Yeah. Like it's, it's got a choke hold on my wife. That's like her favorite thing to watch right now. She's, she's been enjoying that movie. So is it a movie or a series? It's a movie. okay it's a you can't ever tell with a netflix now that's true it's a it's an animated like computer whatever it's it but it's it's it's fun like even even though like I said I know it's kind of more in the anime genre but not it's fun let me watch it all right sorry random review in the middle oh dude no no that's that's huge that's huge we need to yes otopop will get into your brain and not come out that's yeah Oh, man. That's one of the songs that the boy band sings. Like I said, as much as you grew up with New Kids on the Block and boy bands, yes, you're going to enjoy this. Just watch this and then let me know. Oh, is this going to be Jess's gateway into K-pop? She's there. She's there. No, I'm not fully into K-pop. She loves BTS. I do like BTS, so... But I'm not... I would not go as far as to say that I am, like, engrossed into K-pop. I mean, I've just... You know, the little... I guess the more popular ones that I've just happened to catch, I don't really listen to modern radio. To tell you how big this has got, like, I think they've already greenlit, like, two sequels and a possible live action out of this. This is how... Of course, this is a Sony production, so Sony has been looking for something to get a hold on some people, so... okay all right it's huge so so if it's anime it's not it's not really anime it's anime inspired but it's very it it's pixar but not you know what I mean the the modern computer style animation gotcha okay just pull up the trailer and show it at this point I'm not pulling it up I know I I completely threw us off off the topic I am so sorry Uh, well, so, all right. So if it's animated, then all, and it's very, very, um, it's very akin to like a spider verse, like the animation is very, it feels very spider mercy. So we need to watch this before dragon kind. So maybe I can recognize some of these things. Somebody will cosplay it. Oh, it's going to be huge. Like it's, it's yeah. Gotcha. All right. Anyway, back to what we were talking about. Okay. Well, and before we get into the Marvel or the superhero talk, too, just real quick, we'll touch on a great showing because we couldn't really talk about it before. But in the afterwards, a great show up, great attendance from what I hear from Gadsden Collector Con. Absolutely. We had them on a couple of weeks ago prior to the show. A month ago now. Yeah. Prior to the con, um, I was late to the party, but I heard from Brock and from Kevin who were there that, uh, they had a really great turnout and, uh, very happy to hear that for those guys. Yeah. I would have, But I completely forgot we had already planned to go up early for Weird Al and Huntsville, so that's why we didn't make it. But I'll make these in January. Isn't that when they're doing their next show in January? Yeah, January. Yeah. It's definitely worth going. It's really cool. It looked wonderful. I mean, the biggest complaint that I had about it, and it's really not even a huge complaint, was that it was really packed. Like, and it wasn't just people. It was just like, they, that they, they didn't really enforce the vendors given space in some places. It was hard to get through, but it was like, it was packed full of awesome stuff. Oh my gosh. Everything. Everything. Yeah, I wound up picking up some things. I didn't intend to buy anything while I was there. But then we found some old, the old Star Trek records and books, you know, the story books. We, I found three of those sealed from my childhood. And the guy was doing like, yeah, here's, go ahead. Whatever's on this table is, you know, five for twenty. And I was like, Oh, made a screaming deal. I got my son, a couple of Wii games that he had been looking for some old school Wii games. And, um, and they picked up those. And then, uh, Adam Frederick, who is bam. And I'm going to mispronounce his Bama Frady. Uh, I'm going to assume, um, he does the, the custom art dioramas or not art, the custom figure dioramas. Um, I put those on the, uh, the Bama geeks Instagram at Bama geeks. Um, if you want to go back and try to find those, if, if, if they've already gone off, I'll repost them, but a huge plug for him. I've got all my, uh, Ghostbusters plasma series figures on it now. Like it's, it's like a little rooftop scene. It's really cool. Yeah. Really cool. He does fantastic work. I definitely want to be, I'm definitely wanting to invest more into his, his stuff. So yeah. But yeah, that was, that happened on my birthday. Got to meet million dollar man, Ted DiBiase. That's what I wanted. And so just made that happen. That was part of your birthday. Yeah. Yeah. That was a lot of fun. That was, it was really cool to meet him finally. And then we got to go to top of the river. Yeah, we did. And then realized they don't have salads there. That's all fried everything. They have coleslaw. Yeah. I mean, that's the closest thing you can get to a salad. Brock's not a coleslaw person. I am. I love coleslaw, but... I'm warming up to it. Let me tell you something, guys. There's a, this is kind of like more members chat stuff here, but there's a really nice little place in Birmingham called Joyland. Really, really, really cool little burger place that you can go to. And they sell Chicago dogs there. And I got a Chicago dog and I am like famous for not like hating jalapeno peppers. And I, they put jalapenos on this thing. I didn't realize it. And I ate through it. I was like, What is this? Were they diced up? No, it was literally the whole pepper. The whole thing. And I jumped into it and I was like, and it's been like probably fifteen years since I've even put a jalapeno in my mouth for any reason. And I was like, you know what? I'm okay with them now. This is all right. So it's like almost like a turning point for me. Um, because, uh, fiance, she was there and she was kind of, she was kind of scared a little bit. She was like, you didn't like, like, like, like Calipans. I'm like, I think I might feel okay with them now. Um, it's funny how things change in overtime. Sometimes you didn't like Brock can attest to that, but that's, that's food talk and we can go on a, we can lose, we can lose our, our train of thought here. So, But Shane did say coleslaw is fine if it's not vinegar based. I wouldn't know. I like both. I like both options. I wouldn't know. I wouldn't dare to know. Coleslaw is the devil. It has the mayo in it. Some of it does mayo based. Okay, I'm going to pull a bow. I don't care. As much as I love mayo, coleslaw, potato salad, and It's all nasty. Hello, Fawaz Alis. Yes, we are. We are definitely old. You are correct, sir. Yeah, we are. My friend, you do not need to see the eye doctor. Your eyes do not deceive you at all, sir. Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you for coming to Coleslaw Talk. Yes. Exactly. That's how we're old. We're talking Coleslaw. Just wait until we start broadcasting from Jack's or Hardee's or McDonald's over morning coffee. It's coming. Senior citizen talk, baby. Good morning, Bama geeks. All right. Well, we appreciate you tuning in though. Yes. Thank you for coming by. How do we segue? How do we segue from Cole slot? Okay. I love this. He said, I came to see my future. We're so sorry for your future. Totally disappointed. You will be. welcome in how's it going you kids yeah how do you do fellow kids yeah so uh before we if you're going to be at dragon con this year uh and we're going to be very easy to find look for the old people as ghostbusters We are the Ghostbuster Afterlife Accurate Age Ghostbusters. And it'll make an extra extension to your badge collection, you know, to your, so yeah. Exactly. That way you can wear it and say, I listen to old people. That's right. That's right. Support the elderly. Look at me. I'm hip. Oh. Fawaz, if you really want to, we do talk a lot about our age on this podcast, actually. Go back and find some of the old episodes and you will hear us. Really, we are relentless on how old we are. Yeah, we're very well aware. We even played a game. Yes, we did. Yeah, we even played a game about it. Yeah, a few episodes ago, yeah. Most people try to play off their getting old and try to be more youthful. No, we embrace it. No, it's fine. We are blessed to be creeping up in age and hope we continue to do so. That's right. So. Yeah. I love it. Oh, that just proves we're live tonight. So we had been talking. We know we wanted to talk about Superman and finally reveal our thoughts on that. And then, of course, like we said, Jess and I have seen Fantastic Four twice. Please jump into the chat with us. Give us your thoughts as we talk about this. Right before we went live tonight, I pulled up the browser and an article from Variety popped up here and it's exactly this subject. Let's see. Let me try to share the screen here. All right. So yeah, this article from Variety popped up. Can you see that? I'm having to shift some things around. Okay. You may have to like zoom it in a little bit if you can, like, you know, control plus or whatever. I want to have browsers. This is, you know what? We'll just link it in the, in the, uh, later on. I'll read it to you. Um, the, the author from variety, Owen Gleiberman, I always want to give full credit where credit is due. Um, uh, he says now that, uh, the article is called now that we've re now that they've relaunched, how will DC and Marvel avoid the same old downward spiral? We have absolutely been unimpressed by both DC and Marvel the last two or three years. They've not really, man. Huh? Then what in the Ant-Man are you talking about? Quantumania is what we're talking about. Terrible movie. Um, most of them have been just really in my opinion this is just my opinion it just have really been uninspired they've not been fun the the whole multiverse thing has really thrown some huh into it yeah even though even though we do have you know tara strong at the beginning of the live stream you know miss minutes talking about saving your sacred timeline um the timeline has For me, it's felt a little bit of a bust. Mm-hmm. But this month, or last month, July, DC released Superman, the first big new relaunch under James Gunn. Fantastic Four, which we were excited about, especially since they did the world premiere of the trailer there in Huntsville at the Space and Rocket Center. Mm-hmm. So just really quickly, we're going to read down the article and then we'll get into our thoughts or whatever. But the byline or the sub, the subhead is Superman and the Fantastic Four had the advantage of origin story simplicity. But as the new universe gets busy, the new universes get busy as fatigue destined to set in. And for, for me, it was all, it was there. I didn't really care about seeing another Marvel movie. Mm-hmm. Uh, but Owen writes if superhero fatigue is a trend that became all too real, the making of the movies that brought it on might be likened to an addiction. The studios that produce those films got hooked on the idea that comic book movies would be a limitless cash cow. And so they started to make them without limits, jacking up the budgets, the thorny interconnectedness of the characters, and the sheer volume of films they greenlit, each one promising, in theory, to be the box office equivalent of Christmas Day. But it didn't turn out that way. For audiences, more turned out to be less. After a while, the sheer overkill of comic book cinema began to look like it might kill the golden goose. Completely agree on that. Yeah. Uh, this summer though, the release of two vital game changing superhero movies created a kind of Christmas in July with Superman and the fantastic four first steps DC and Marvel, the reigning studio factories of superhero movies have brought off more than just a course correction. They have in effect started over relaunching expectations for a bold new era in which comic book movies become successful again by avoiding the addictive missteps of the past. Uh, Both films have connected with audiences the old-fashioned way by merging spectacle and emotion, infusing their iconic characters with the kind of human relatability that got squashed in the superhero overkill era. Not too much more to go, I think. That said, even two terrific flagship movies do not a revolution make. James Gunn, the co-chairman of DC Studios, and not so incidentally, the writer-director of Superman and Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, have both spoken of the new era they're embarking upon in the abashed, let's own our failures language of recovering addicts. Gunn has vowed that he won't put a superhero movie into production until it has a fully realized, well-carpentered script. That's key. Because a lot of these movies, especially on the DC side, went into production. The script hasn't been finished. And that is why... he's doing supergirl next was because he said it came to him and he said this this script is rock solid I love it that's why we're filming it next that he and it's really cool because he determines the schedule on these things and I've always kind of got the sense that that feige while he's the lead with with disney it's always kind of felt more like the shareholders were determining things yeah That's been a lot of the problem with Disney for me. Well, I mean, when you look at Gunn, I saw a good discussion. If you think about it, Guardians is probably the only complete trilogy in all of Marvel where it's good. There's not a bad movie. One movie's better than the other, but there's not a bad movie in that trilogy. Yeah, absolutely. Yep. Um, well, this continues on the absence of good scripts in the face of ever more bombastic onslaughts of CGI being the most notorious feature of bad comic book movies. Feige has vowed that he'll produce fewer films and TV spinoffs and exert the kind of quality control that went out the window at Marvel as the studio went on its bender of more and lesser comic book product. Um, To me, Marvel started failing big time when The Eternals came out. That was the first really big miss they had. Really big. Terrible movie. It became to the part where they got lazy on the fact, oh, the people will see it because, oh, we got to know how this connects to the next thing. But that doesn't always resonate with everybody. You've got to Okay, we've got a comment we're not going to put on screen. Babuji, I hope I pronounced your name correct. Fantastic Four was so boring. Too much talking, only two action scenes. Needed something extra. I'm leaving that part out. All right. That's how you feel about it. If you guys want to see what he says, look in the chat. Okay. Continuing on with the article. You deeply want to believe these two because they sound like they mean it. And because anyone who cares about the future of movies has a vested interest in seeing Hollywood maintain a thriving and creatively disciplined... blockbuster culture. Yes. And both Superman and the fantastic four, the filmmakers gun and Matt Shackman respectively, uh, made the very canny decision to spin right past the usual origin story narratives, which was good. I think that was a good call in both movies. Yes. Everybody knows how Superman got to earth. Everybody, uh, Well, they briefly touched on the origin of the Fantastic Four, and it was very brief. Like I said, we're not getting into spoiler territory on Fantastic Four because Bo and Kevin haven't seen it, but Superman we're going to spoil if you haven't seen it. Superman's arrival on Earth and how the Fantastic Four got their powers. Both films are, in effect, second chapters, and there's a tradition in comic book cinema of second chapters being the charm. Agreed. The dark night is the crowning masterpiece of the whole genre. Yeah. I agree with that. Uh, is the crowning masterpiece of the whole genre. Superman two is for many of us deeper and richer than Superman, the movie and Spider-Man two is universally cherished. Absolutely. Um, But if second chapters are the sweet spot, they're also the easy part. The Fantastic Four especially benefits from the fantastic simplicity of its storytelling design. But the film concludes with a teaser of an end title that I, for one, found worrisome. Mm-hmm. It's no secret. Well, yeah, they're cast. This is not a spoiler. The Fantastic Four will return in Avengers Doomsday. That's been known. In other words, the next time you see these characters, they'll be in a movie that features fourteen superheroes. And just like that, we could once again be in the land of overkill. Last paragraph. I believe Gunn and Feige when they say they're newly committed to quality control, the challenge they're going to face is this. As their shiny new universes grow ever more complicated and multi, which is going to start happening in about five minutes, the new DC and Marvel are going to lose, by definition, the elemental, no-strings-attached quality that Superman and the Fantastic Four have. They're going to become glorified puzzle pieces again, fitting into a larger, more elaborate hole that we once again stop giving a darn about. I'd be a cynic if I said that was destined to be true. I'd be a realist if I said there's a very good chance it could be. So again, credit to Owen Gleiberman at Variety. Thanks, Owen. I mean, Superman, let's just talk about Superman. Superman had the potential to be overkill. From the trailer, it looked like it was going to be overkill. It was like, what in the crap is going on? It's a Superman movie. Why are they cramming all these people into a Superman movie? But when you watch it, you realize that they're just basically dropping you into an ongoing comic book. And it's like, basically, they just drop you in, and the I have been very outspoken in my criticism of Superman. One of the things that has kept me from him from being my favorite superhero is the fact that he was written to be invincible. Yeah. And he's always been portrayed on screen as being invincible. And it's one little green rock is about the only thing you can do to it. Yeah. And in this movie, it showed that Superman, he is, he's pretty awesome, but he also works really, he, he, could benefit from a team. And they're actually in this movie, they're actually starting to get together, you know, the justice league or, or I'm sorry, the justice gang. Yeah. Yeah. So, I mean, I, I, that was, that was what drew me into this because I was, I started watching the movie and I was like, okay, I'm going to come. It's like, this is Superman movie. It is whatever. And then I started to watch it. The first thing, you know, the first thing is, is he gets the crap beat out of him right off the bat. Well, they hit us with a, well, everybody called it. They, they hit us with a star Wars crawl crawl to kind of get us familiar with this universe. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And it worked. Yeah. That, that dropped us in and let, just like, let it go. Just let it go. Yeah. And that crawl at the beginning of Superman that, that brought you into the universe. Fantastic. Ford does that in about that length of time, but not with a crawl, but, but describing how they got their powers. Yeah. Yeah. And that they dropped you in to four years later. Yeah. And yeah. Yeah. Well, it would make sense. Like, you know, they've already, I guess, you know, you said everyone's, everybody's burned out on origin stories. And if you ain't got to do it, don't do it. So, yeah. And I mean, yeah. If you, if you're talking Superman, one of the, I think one of the biggest pluses was like, everybody was, I felt was perfectly cast. Oh yeah. Like it was, I mean, even, you know, our new Superman, everybody to Nathan Fillion, which was, yeah, the dude's my favorite. He basically got to play Captain Hammer again. Yes. I mean, he, I mean, and the fact that when they're talking about lanterns coming up, you know, the series coming up and he's like the amount of F bombs I drop in that is insane. I have never had such a big potty mouth than when I've done this. And I'm like, okay, I cannot wait. That's all par for guy Gardner. That's that's guy Gardner. It is. He did such a good job of just showing how much of a absolute tool he is. Yeah. And it's like, this is captain hammer. With curse words. And he, he, Nathan Fillion was fantastic in Superman. He, his, his guy Gardner's is, is fun. I, I don't appreciate the fact that the F bomb is a selling point, but it is what it is. I can't think of his name, but Mr. Terrific, his actor. Oh. Yeah, I can't. He's another one of the guys who's... He stole that movie. When he popped off, he absolutely stole that movie. He really did. He's incredible. Him and Nicholas Holt as Lex Luthor is probably my favorite two castings in that movie. The best thing I felt about Nicholas Holt... I've been a fan of his forever. From when he was younger. My favorite thing was... There you go. Thank you. Thank you. Hi, Sean. His name is Wesley Snipes. We'll get to your question in just a second, Babuchi. Nicholas Holt was just the emotion that he showed at the end. I think a lot of people commented that they didn't feel like Lex Luthor should be like that. That he just needs to be this hard villain and stuff. And it's like, no, he believed very passionately that Superman is a threat. Yeah. To the point where you can just see all of his. Well, that and Luther and Luther, the biggest thing, one of the big drawing points for Luther, like I liked, I've always, he, he hates Superman so much is because he's everything. He's not indestructible. Everyone loves him. He can do no wrong. That's what Luther wants more than anything. And that's why he hates him. So you see him coming apart. Yes. It is just of it. Yeah. Yeah. Oh my gosh. Absolutely. Jumping over really quickly to Babuji's question, do you think Pedro Pascal is overrated? No. I don't think he's overrated. He's overused. He's overexposed. That's exactly what I was going to say. He's overexposed. He is falling into the overexposed. He's where Chris Pratt was a couple years ago. That's where he's at. I have no problems with him getting work, but I feel like... I feel like the more he's on screen the more this perverts him from disappearing into particular roles so yeah yeah he's definitely riding a wave right now yeah I mean it's a thing he's riding a wave and it's I can't blame the guy make them big chicks yeah yeah and I mean has everything he's been has he has he been a part of been great no absolutely not but I mean let's let's not talk about wonder woman but anyway um Uh, Wonder Woman, eight, four. The first one was good. Wonder Woman, eight, four. Yes. Shane says Lex Luthor man of steel was a good series that brought up a lot of those questions about error and his internal thoughts. I have not seen that. See, Brock has not been a Superman guy. I am anti-Superman. Me either. I mean, you look, I'm wearing a Batman Forever shirt. I've got a Batman eighty nine cowl sitting right here. I'm a Batman fanatic. He wore that shirt to Superman. I wore this shirt to Superman. Um, but yeah, uh, Superman, like to Kevin's point earlier is just big blue boy scout. And I, I've not enjoyed him because of that. This was the first Superman movie since Christopher Reeves that I was like, okay, yes, you're going to bring me back around. It had a sprinkling of Donner in it. Yeah. It felt a little, they even pulled in John Williams, original score at the beginning. And then they did it. And then they went over to guitar with it. And then they kept bringing that in, which made, and the, and the fact that, that, you know, this, this Superman, it, he has the, all the boy scout parts to him, but he doesn't overdo it really. And you can see that he's flawed. He's a human. Yeah. That's the one thing everyone talks about how strong Superman is. But essentially, it's later in the movie, he gets scared. He has the same weaknesses we all do mentally. I guess that's... And it's setting him up to be like, you know what? Supes, you're an amazing guy. Here's a team to back you up. And then we got the Justice League. And now we can start bringing in individual characters and building onto it. Man, he has... He has started this – James Gunn started this off with a bang. I mean, seriously. If he can keep his momentum up, he is going to steal away so much from Marvel. And I hope that this makes Marvel look at this and go, you know what? He's been talking crap about this for years, getting this built up. He actually knows what he's doing. Let's try to – for once, let's try to mimic them and do a reset. Maybe when they're doing X-Men or something like that. Like I said, the cool thing about it, like I said, it's very reminiscent of, like I said, because, I mean, the cool thing about, like, going with Luther. We've got, good thing, we've got Tessmacher. Even when he said Otis, I was actually happy that we got an Otis name drop. But it was so funny, like there was one thing about Superman that kept bothering me until it made sense at the end was, all right, so the Fortress of Solitude, only Superman could get into it. Right. I was like, how the heck did he get in it? Yeah. And then they finally, sorry, I know I'm jumping around. This may be, you're talking about setting things up. Yep. So wound up being, you know, that was Ultraman who wound up being clone. Yeah. And I was like, okay, this is cool. This is cool. And then when they started implying that he's dumb, well, he's not, not as smart. He's very simpleton type. And then soups pretty much just muscle basically. Yeah. Yeah. It's more, more muscle than brain. See, for me, my personal wish list is I hope, like I said, this is what they've done. I hope this is setting up for a Bizarro. That's what I'm so hoping for. Because Bizarro would be great. And one character I so hope James Gunn brings in is Plastic Man. I loved that cartoon from when I was a kid. Still love Plastic Man. I don't know who I would get to play Plastic Man. I'd have to do some deep searching. But that's one of those characters, obscure characters, I hope James brings in. Well, one thing they could do is bring in John Krasinski since he was, you know, everybody was pulling for him to play Mr. Fantastic for the Fantastic Four. He's already stretched out in Multiverse of Madness, so might as well just go and bring him in as Plastic Man. I know he needs, he's very smart-alecky. We need someone a la, not Ryan Reynolds, but someone like that. Oh, not Ryan Reynolds. Not Ryan. No, not Ryan Reynolds. No, not Ryan. I'm just saying someone with that, that, that. He means like a type, like a, like a Ryan Reynolds type. You need that comedic effect. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I mean, and I mean, you've got Gardner's kind of filling that a little bit. Yeah. That's what I'm saying. I get, I'm trying to think. Ryan's already been Green Lantern once. All right. Right. Yeah, it is true. I want to see where they go with lanterns. I'm really looking forward to seeing where they go with that because if it's anything like they're hinting, if it's anything like this movie, it is going to be insane. It's going to be so good. I think they're going with the Jon Stewart lantern, right? Probably. Shane says it's hinting hard since he was a clone in the DCU. What are your thoughts on Crypto? Oh, Crypto. Oh, man. he was troublemaker dog adoption rates went up five hundred percent and I hope yeah and those people hang on to those dogs because a lot of times we'll get them and then dump them but hopefully that's that's a huge deal for adoption rates for dogs but I mean pulling crypto in was absolutely genius honestly I didn't think how it would work but it works it's perfect yeah it is he he He got on my nerves a little bit just by how big of a troublemaker he was, but he was a really good character. Well, anyone who's had a rambunctious dog, that's, you know, that's, that's why I didn't like it. I mean, you know, the whole deal where you have to, at the end where, you know, he's really excited to see, you know, his owner, his owner. And you realize, okay. Cause he says in the movie, he's like, this is kind of like a foster thing. I'm kind of fostering the dog. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And then when she comes in, you see his demeanor changes altogether. The same as a dog does when their real owner comes home or the one that they have chosen as the dominant owner or whatever in a situation comes in and they just treat them entirely differently. So it'll be interesting if Crypto is also in Supergirl's movie. Because if that's the case, it'll be so funny. It has to be. Yeah, it has to be. Shane said Legion of Super Pets movie in the works. Oh my gosh. They did an animated movie. Yeah. Yeah. And, and I, I do see where super girl could be the next one since she did show up in this. Yeah. My son loved the crypto cartoon. So we watched it quite a bit. Of course you had bat dog with crypto and that was always some of the best little episodes they put together in that cartoon. So, yeah. It was interesting how they threw the curveball with his Kryptonian parents' intentions for Superman. That was very different. That was an interesting take on a familiar origin story. It's the first time that they've really portrayed his parents as being negative. yeah yeah you know and being like you know he he only heard part of the message and then they attacked the rest of it and the whole message was no no no no seriously just you know be like the viltrumites and just totally take these people over you know instead of being like a kryptonian and then it just kind of showed that there was a dark side to kryptonians as well but then I think also it kind of works into like also but then it's you know of course I loved his mom even though they wouldn't need it that much mom pocket was wonderful Yeah, they were. People were talking so bad about them having a good old Southern accent. That's Kansas. I mean, you guys have never been to Kansas, have you? Oh, my gosh. I mean, I can be on a Zoom meeting at work, and then all of a sudden, you know, I can drop my professional and then start going on into it and speaking like I'm from Alabama. Yeah. Especially when him and Pa Kent are sitting there on the front porch talking to each other, just talking about Superman being the best he can and helping everything, and it's somebody with the father of a young kid. I got a little misty-eyed during that whole section. That was rough. Yeah. He's like, you know, I tried to raise you as best I can. Yeah. But there's, I can literally not help you because you can handle so much more than me, but I want, like, you can just feel that tension. Yeah, that was a great scene. It was so good. It was a really good scene. And then he had that good redemption there at the end where, you know, he said he likes to watch the videos of his parents and it wound up being the kids rather than the House of L, which I love that. Like I said, it's, I think that was kind of the message though, like on top of it was, you know, Superman's not the super being, you know, he's in a human like us at that same day, you know, it's not what you are that defines you. It's who you are, I guess, you know what I mean? Or how you, how you, how you, how you, I guess go about it. I don't know. I'm trying to think I'm overwording it being. No. Yeah. Yeah. So it was still, I mean, you know, I've always been, was always critical of our last iteration of Superman. I loved, I love that, but it was, you know, it was dark. The whole thing was dark. I like this because it felt more like the Donnerverse. It was the same. I mean, I've been very outgoing in saying that my favorite Superman movie is Superman Returns. I love Brandon Ralph. I love that. It's a great movie. I love that. It's good because it kind of, to me, it was where they wanted to go. Had that not been a bomb, a box office bomb. That was where they wanted to go. It was, it was, they were trying to get to where they're like, we don't have, it's not Donner anymore, but we want it to be like Donner. It's like James Gunn said, I think they were going somewhere with returns. Let's see if we can do and pull something like that instead of it being dark, which was still good, but this just had more of like they took the filter off of it, right? And it just felt more alive. the whole movie just felt more alive and it felt more real. And it made me want to cheer for Superman. And it made me want to cheer for everybody, you know, especially when they were throwing up middle, you know, uh, Guy Gardner was throwing up middle fingers and knocking. I was like, you know what? This is going to be one of my favorite characters now. I love it. Oh, fun fact. I own Superman returns on HD DVD. Nice. That was right. That's about the right time. Yep. Back for those who don't remember that, the Blu-ray versus HD DVD Wars, Xbox three sixty had a had an add on drive, an HD DVD add on drive. And I had that. And Superman Returns was one of the handful of movies I had for that. You still have it somewhere. OK, somewhere. I still watch that movie at least once a year. Um, cause I really like it. I mean, Kevin Spacey. Oh, he great Luther. I mean, we'll say what you want to say about him personally. I mean, he's obviously got some problems there. Right. Right. But as Luther, Oh my God, he killed me. He was good at playing a bad guy. Cause he is one. Yeah. Another, another fun fact, Kevin Spacey and I had the same birthday. Oh, all right. I'm the good guy though. Hmm. Well, I have the same birthday as Jessica Alba. Okay, so we're good there. It made me think, though. Also, I forgot to bring up the superheroes that show up with it. I thoroughly enjoyed the little quick cameo of Peacemaker. Yes. That was so good. So good and perfect. That was the best way to throw him in there. I know you're not a big fan of Peacemaker, but you know. I can't stand that character. Speaking of which, you know, they're supposed to start airing that on TNT, so I'm curious how much editing they are doing. There's going to be a lot of editing. Oh my gosh. How? Yeah, I mean, really, seriously, how? A lot of editing. Wally Wick? You know? These episodes are going to be five minutes long. It's going to be like the edited version that they show. I think it's probably on TBS or TNT, the edited version of Snakes on a Plane with Samuel L. Jackson. These monkey fighting snakes on this monkey fighting plane. Yeah. Like I said, I think I saw, I want to say it was like, I was watching dynamite or collision. They had a commercial where they were going to be showing it on TNT. Okay. I may rewatch it again if it's that edited because I frankly hated it. I get it. It was too much. It was overkill. I mean, there's to a certain point, it's just like, okay. Okay. I can't Brock. I can't wait to see what you think about lanterns when it comes out. It's probably going to be the same thing. I'll wait. I'll wait till the TNT version. They did do James' Suicide Squad. I know they've been airing it on TNT, which is not as bad as Peacemaker. No, it's not, but he's in it. I like John Cena as a wrestler, but as this character, I hate him. And that's just my personal thing. And I'm on the other end of it. I think this is one of the best things he's done, honestly. I think he is so good in this role. He's good in the role. He's entertaining. He's good in the role. It's just the language is so overkill. And that's the reason I'm on the other end of it. That doesn't bother me. I think it adds to it. So it's, yeah, I love it. To a point it could add to it, but... On the other side of the coin, it's just like, bam, bam, bam, bam, just hit you over the head with it. I just feel like, you know, is it just, you're just, you're, are you just really just out there just trying to push the envelope just to see how far we can push the envelope? Yeah. I mean, you know, so. So what you're saying, Brock, is we're never going to get your view of the Twisted Metal series, right? I hadn't watched it yet. I hadn't even watched it. It's got Samoa Joe in it. It's a lot like that, too. Well, it's got Samoa Joe in it, and I really love Samoa Joe. So we'll have to see. And he has a very big prominent part in it too. Awesome. Uh, Shane says it's more of a character than the original peacemaker in the comics. I never read the comics. So much TV. I got to catch up on, like, I know much as I fawned over strange new worlds. I still there's like, they're what? Halfway through the season. I need to watch it. We were only three episodes into it. yeah we've we've been around a little bit behind too it's so good I think I'm watching episode four of the holodeck episode there's one about the holodeck I think that's episode four that's what I'm in and I'm it's kind of slow and I'm like having trouble getting through it um but they've they've had like one of those episodes with every season so far where it's like you get that episode you're like all right I'm gonna slog through it because I know the next episode is probably gonna be amazing yeah so I just gotta finish it um And I also, um, you mean, are we talking about the casting of this movie of Superman? Uh, I mean, I think that, uh, that Rachel Brosnahan, she was perfect. She was a good, she was a perfect Lois perfectly cast in this. And I have, I've watched, uh, the marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Amazon with her in it. That was one of my favorite shows. The, the, the Superman tie in there was, is with her playing Lois Lane. She was also in house of cards, the U S version with Kevin Spacey. Oh yeah. Yes. Very prominently in that. And I loved her in that show. Yeah. I loved her in that show. She was like from like the first episode she was in it. She was like right on it. Um, yeah. And then Hawke girls casting was perfect too. Yeah. I mean, I mean, everybody, every guy playing Jimmy Olsen was wonderful. Oh yeah. Yeah. Oh, who was he? Um, I recognized him and I, well, he was Gideon on the righteous gemstones. Okay. So I haven't seen that yet. That's where I first, uh, first was, uh, exposed to him as an actor. Um, yeah, hold on. Shane says a lot of the cast for Superman came from X-Men First Class. Well, yeah, that's true. Yeah. X-Men First Class was a fantastic movie. Loved it. I liked it. And they even managed to squeeze Alan Tudyk in there, which is like, I mean, I'm always going to be a huge deal there. Absolutely. With the voice of the bots, so. It was him. And I think, uh, I can't think of her name, uh, Palm that played a mantis. She's one of the, she was the, she was the feminine voice of the, uh, the robots. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. There was a lot of, there was a lot of, a lot of guardians in that movie too. Skylar Giz, Giznodone, Giznodone, Giznodone. I don't know how you pronounce that last name. Played Jimmy Elson. Okay. Like I said, I just knew, I knew it from Righteous Gemstones. And I loved his, his in-source to Lex. Me and Eve. What's that? I'm sorry. His love subplot with his inside source to Lex Luthor. Oh, yes. Mutant toes. She was a hoot. Yeah. Yeah, she was great. There's not a bad character or a bad actor in that movie. Metamorpho, the gentleman playing Metamorpho was wonderful. Yeah. Oh, dude. See, and I was not familiar with his character. I saw his action figure in Target one day. I'm like, I think I recognize him. I recognize the name, but I didn't recognize him because I've not paid that much attention to the Superman comics and stuff like that. Like I said, I'm not a Superman fan. But his little bit in there was fantastic. Fantastic. I really enjoyed his character. There really wasn't a low point in this movie. I will echo what I said earlier. The most amazing thing about this movie was Even me, a person who admittedly wasn't an avid comic book reader growing up, I did have some, but I didn't read it like, yeah, I didn't like you like Shane. We're quoting, you know, this was a comic book series. Obviously, he reads a lot of comics, right? I wasn't that way. But even with that, as soon as that movie started within the first five minutes, I felt like this was a living comic book. When they were moving around, it was almost like we were looking at tiles. It felt right. It doesn't feel like a Marvel movie feels. Marvel feels very big, blockbuster. This felt more like There's a more simplicity to the movie, to the telling of the story. Yeah. And it's in stark contrast to what Marvel's been doing, where they're trying to make everything so huge. And you've got to remember where this person's from and this place and this thing. And you've got to have seen these fifteen movies. And this one's like, no, cool. Just watch it. Yeah. It's simple. Yeah. Yeah. And I had that same feel with Fantastic Four. Okay. I really did. Fantastic four. Going back to the previous comment, not the second half of it, but there was a lot of talking in the movie. There was a lot of good story in it. It was also a very simplistic way of telling a superhero story and showing and having a superhero movie. Visually, I enjoyed it. Visually, it was very appealing to me. Well, that retrofuturism. I love it. Fantastic four. I mean, just from what I've seen, from what I've seen in photos and the trailers and stuff, like I like that, that retrofuturism it's, it's, it's nice. It really is nice. I'm a person that tends to gravitate towards that for some reason. It's just always been appealing to me. Well, it's a, it's, yeah, it's a, it's a, it's a nice aesthetic. yeah yeah and shane says metamorpho was used more in the animated shows and movies in more recent times in the comics outside the batman inc run in the comics yeah he was he was he he showed up a good bit in the justice league uh unlimited cartoon series that later tim series I know you were you were probably in the air force or life going on at that time so that's why yeah that's what I said yeah he was I had all the action figures, but I didn't have, I didn't, I didn't watch the cartoon series. Oh, the Justice League cartoon series. That was another go-to for Zach, for my son. I watched a few episodes and really enjoyed it. That's why I wound up buying the figures, but I didn't see the whole thing. Yeah. And I had to catch it when it came out on DVD, you know, later on. Yeah. It sure did. I'm sure that retro feel made you feel young again. Sure did. Absolutely. It made me feel young again. I need a movie with lots of eighties wood paneling. And I saw those old, we saw those old analog clocks and stuff. It made me think I need to take my pills. Okay. I love this. I just kept this in check this episode. We will tell you that none of us were around in the sixties. That's true. Fantastic Four was set, but Brock and I are Gen X. Jess and I are definitely from the seventies though. We are. Both are more zinnias. Yeah. I think you're more closer to Gen X than I am. I'm like the elder, elder, elder, elder millennial. Yeah. And for a while, if I could give you a high five in real life, I would. Absolutely, Dave. Thank you. Those were some of my favorite comments tonight. Enjoyed your banter. Thank you. I will say this. I'm old enough that all the houses, the majority of the houses I lived in all had wood paneling. My grandmother's house did, but we didn't. Believe me for wise, you're not missing anything with that. That's comment of the night right there. It's been well documented in this podcast that nostalgia is our drug of choice. Craig credit the boat for that tagline. The thing with the Superman movie is it does make you feel nostalgic for at least for me. It made me feel more like it was the daughter films. Yeah. Yeah. But you know, we went from what Marlon Brando to Bradley Cooper when he came to his dad, that was a, that's a heck of a job, but you know, like I said, it was good. It was good. The basis, you know, you had reverence to the, to the, the Donner movies, but then like, like when he fought the big monster that felt like the old Max Fleischer, not Max Fleischer, the, um, all the cartoons, what are they? They, uh, there were Max Fleischer. Yeah. The Fleischer cartoons, like him fighting the big giant monster felt very similar to that, you know? Yeah. yeah he felt he felt like he wasn't invincible which is the thing that made me feel the best about the movie it's like I for once in my life am watching a Superman film and I feel like I can relate to the character he doesn't seem like this absolute infallible boy scout with superpowers he is a he's a person he's that just happens to have superpowers with a Boy Scout mentality. I can relate to that. I think that this version of Superman is going to be more relatable. He's a punk rocker. Yes, he is. Yes, that's right. I love the lines about punk. What was the name of the band? The Crab Lovejoys? What was that band's name? What was that? Crabjoys or something. He had the poster in his room. I remember seeing that when he went home. I don't remember. The Mighty Crabjoys. Mighty Crabjoys. Mighty Crabjoys, yeah. Oh, my. Maybe that's the real punk rock. That's a good point for Shane. Shane taking shots at dead people. At least Bradley Cooper probably actually learned his line instead of having them plastered everywhere on the set like Brando. There we go. But can Bradley Cooper act with an orange peel in his mouth? Hmm. every time there's a death in the godfather somebody there's an orange related to it and so oh okay yeah okay so fun fact I've I haven't seen any of the godfather movies okay back in the back in our hallway closet I know there's the set is the trilogy on blu-ray yeah I mean, I'm familiar with... We'll go past two. We're not going to watch part three. Okay, one and two. Jess, you could seriously just watch the first one and you'll know. Because the first one is a freaking masterpiece. Oh, it's gorgeous. I've seen things along... Like a lot of things that Brock has talked about, there's been bits and pieces and I know I have a familiarity about the story or whatever, but I haven't seen... I've never seen that one. Superhero movie, Godfather. Okay, we're going to make the Godfather appointment viewing, at least the first one. Okay. Second one's good. Third one, we're not touching. Okay. That's the one in the trilogy I won't watch again. She can watch it, you know, later at least watch it so she can understand. It's like the Rocky V of Godfathers, I guess. Yeah, pretty much. I mean, it's like Godfather three is just a train wreck and what not to do when you make a movie. Okay. Yeah. Godfather, Quantumania. Kind of like turtles in time. Yeah. Yeah. It's now nostalgia bait, even though I know it's a bad movie. yeah it's when you get to the third one you know it's time to stop we're done we're done milking the cow we're good yeah that first one is one of the best movies of all time though which I'm going to go watch because they extended it to like a week of it running in the theaters it'll be like a tuesday when I go you didn't know that they're for the for the anniversary they're doing like they're showing the original teenage oh oh oh we're talking we're back to turtles sorry you got the godfather yeah oh yeah when are they showing that in the theater I want to say it's like the sixteenth through the something or it's this month yes it's like I think a week from week from like this weekend or next weekend like it's are they showing it locally to birmingham yes uh I'll look at it real quick while you guys keep going tell me it's not a fandom event right I don't know. Originally, it was supposed to be one of those Sunday and Wednesday viewings, but then they changed it. Of course, when I want to see it, I can't find it, but it's been on an ad on my Facebook page, Facebook timeline for a while. I've also seen one for Batman and Batman Returns coming back to the theater. Yeah, no, that's not... I couldn't find it local to us. Oh, okay. I need Eighty-Nine in the theater again where I can see it. I don't want it to travel for it. Yeah. Uh, I'm looking real quick coming soon. Yeah. I kind of want to know too. Sorry. We're, we're, we're disrupting the light. It's a fathom event. Yeah. Really? Really? Come on, man. And they are showing it, uh, in Hoover and at the summit. Yeah. The, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, Okay. Okay. Of August. Yeah. Yeah. First one starts Friday, August. Okay. Creek and Hoover. I can go do that. That's this next weekend. We'll figure it out. We'll figure it out. Sorry for the live stream. That's what we always do. Let's old people get caught off on tangents. Yeah. I got me over here looking up where the nearest Waffle House is. Yeah. For us, what you'll understand about us is, A, yes, we are old. We will go off on tangents. B, we're from the southeastern U.S. We will go off on tangents. Yeah, we're from the south. Yeah. That's what people in the South do. We just, we just wander off in conversations and we'll eventually get back around to what we're talking about. If you're not familiar with the Southern goodbye, what that means, go, go look that up. So that'll tell you a lot. That will tell you a lot. You're going to be there a while. Well, we'll go ahead and tell you it's when you're trying to tell somebody goodbye. Like if you've already said, all right, goodbye, we'll see you later. And then you stand around for another twenty minutes talking and catching up. Then it's goodbye again. And then it's another five minutes before you actually leave. Yeah. We talk. And it's going to be really bad when we get even older and dementia or Alzheimer kicks in. And then when we're saying goodbye, we're going to be thinking that we just got there. That's right. It's going to be nasty. Well, speaking of goodbyes. Yeah. I know it's getting in our hour here. Yeah, we try to, for those new to the stream, and we've had several of you tonight, thank you very much for joining us. We have thoroughly enjoyed you being in the chat with us. We normally try to keep these live streams to about an hour or so, give or take a few minutes. Yeah, so Superman, thumbs up? Absolutely. Oh, gosh, yes. I hope this continues. If anything, I'm hoping Lanterns keeps this momentum going, even though it's going to be a little more... Yeah, with the language, you know, obviously because of Guy Gardner, I really hope that it continues. And then, of course, we have Supergirl after that, which. Oh, after seeing her, yeah. I like when James Gunn has his hands on things. It tends to, tends the outcomes to be very pleasing and very enjoyable. Yeah. And I look forward to hearing your guys take on a fantastic four. Um, yeah, it, it, it was a good story and Galactus is, is fun to, is fun to see. Yeah. Yeah. Cool. Yeah. I'm all for it. That's all we'll say about it. I have to do like a review of some sort on it. Yeah. Yeah. I'll try to, like I said, I don't know if I'll catch you here soon, but like I said, they might, I would see what I can. I don't know if we'll see it in the theater, but I'll work it out. Yeah, I'm hoping Thunderbolts slash New Avengers comes out on Disney Plus before too much longer because that's one we do want to see. I know as of last night, it was not on there because my son was here and he's like, I can't find it. And I'm like, well, I'm not paying thirteen bucks to purchase it. We're going to we're going to wait till his Disney Plus. Yeah. Sean Montana says, go watch weapons. I have, I have heard. Yes. Yeah. I've heard good things about that. We will definitely try to make that, uh, that show. I want to see Naked Gun also. Naked Gun's also one I want to go see. Yeah. Yeah. We haven't seen that yet. I will not watch anything Seth MacFarlane with my kids. See, we need to take advantage of our A-list, Brock, and see if we can, at some point, try to get in and see, like, do the more than one movie a day kind of thing or something. Are we? Are the theaters? I'll tell you, sorry. Are the theaters doing earlier showings again? Like now are we getting back to where we can have like eleven o'clock movies again? Because I may do that. Oh, we went to see Superman. Like, no, it wasn't. It wasn't Superman. We went to see Fantastic Four like at ten thirty in the morning. Oh, nice. Wonderful. It was a Saturday of Summer Slam. So, yeah. Yeah. OK. Yeah, absolutely. Midday week showings while the kiddos at school. Yeah, I can. Yeah. Weapons. I've heard a lot of people were bragging about that movie. Yeah. Yeah. We'll have to go see it. Yeah. So, uh, we, again, we really appreciate you guys jumping into the chat, especially people. Like I said, first time here, we, we hope you'll come back, make sure you hit like, and subscribe, uh, on this. We'd love to have you back if you want to learn. Oh, okay. All right. Yeah. We haven't done a Hulk Hogan. Yeah. That's great. Yeah. Thank you. Um, for audio listeners, Sean asks, what's the best memory you have of Hulk Hogan? Well, as a kid in the eighties, we talk about here, we are talking about superheroes. We've made the comment, you know, a couple of times on this podcast that that was superheroes to us back in the day of wrestling. You're good guys. You're bad guys. I mean, there's a difference and I'll just say this Hulk Hogan versus Terry Borlea. But as far as Hulk Hogan goes, I mean, he's, uh, he's one of the reasons he's, he's one of the things that got me interested in pro wrestling as a kid. And I think that was probably the case for many of us back in the eighties was, you know, WWF, WWE became what it was because of the appeal of Hulk Hogan. Yeah. Yep. And, You know, I mean, for better or for worse, I remember mom dropping me off at the theater to see No Holds Barred. But yeah, Hulk Hogan for me, his, I mean, of course, the iconic imagery of WrestleMania III with Andre. Yeah. I, I was so in love with Ms. Elizabeth as a kid that the whole mega power hands down best storyline, I think. Yeah. And I loved watching him with, with, uh, Ted DiBiase, the million dollar man. And that whole, that whole thing with, with the, you know, the Earl and Dave Hebner, the twin referees. And, you know, just a couple of weeks ago, we got to actually visit with Ted DiBiase here locally and absolutely loved meeting him. He's one of the best heels, one of the best bad guys ever. But such a sweet guy in person. Yeah. Hulkamania ran wild with me as a kid. Big time. Yeah. I said, one of my, one of my first memories with wrestling, I still remember this day was when Andre like choked Hogan really bad to where he had to wear that neck brace. Like I was on Saturday. That's like a core memory. I remember that's like one of the first times where it's like, oh my gosh, he, he, you know, he's hurt him. Even though I love Hogan to me, I'm still savage, but Hogan is right there. I think Kevin is gambling. Why is he so quiet? We'll go ahead and preach because being that you're new to the live stream, Kevin is on the lower end of the pro wrestling fandom. Yeah. Okay, Fawad, she's dead on. Usually, it's very obvious this is your first time seeing us because when they start talking wrestling, I go quiet because, look, wrestling touched me when I was younger, but these guys are still active in it. So they start talking wrestling, and it's like they're speaking French. I have no idea what's going on. So I try. Okay. I love you, man. I hope you come back. Please come back. You're amazing. We're live every other Sunday. I really hope, Waz, that you come back, man. You're great. And I may or may not be gambling right now. If you call buying tickets at AMC Theaters gambling, then that's what I'm doing. He's balancing his four-oh-one-K. That's what we're doing. I mean, it's funny you say that. I am in the middle of processing a rollover right now. There we go. Boy, that's exciting. Yeah. All right. So, uh, Kevin, you are gambling on anime. You weren't supposed to tell anybody about that. Okay. All right. Game freakness. Welcome to the stream, man. All right. What did you like better Superman or fantastic four? Well, I think only Jess and I can answer this one because Kevin and Bo have not seen fantastic four. Oh, man, you've stumped me. I, I have, I'm a lifelong DC fan. I'm a lifelong Batman is one of my first loves. So I've always been more partial to DC. I've never been partial to Superman. Um, outside of the Chris Christopher Reeves movies. And I did really like this one a lot. Fantastic four. I've honestly never been a fan of fantastic four. Mm-hmm. That being said, I would say, uh, I I'm gonna, I'm gonna be honest here. Okay. I think I liked fantastic for a hair more. Oh, okay. And that's because that's largely in part to the retro look. well I figured that and maybe because it's about a family and you know when you you know I know I seem to be fantastic four is very family oriented protecting each other type thing I could see where that might resonate better with you there not for that reason not for that reason um Okay. Game Freakness says, I think Fantastic Four is too quick and they should have added at least thirty more minutes to Superman and removed some of the humor. Okay. Okay. Hold on. That comment above it. What? You got to comment above him. Oh, Chase. Chase Ambrose. Hey, Chase. Chase Ambrose. Very dear friend of ours who I can't wait to see in a couple of weeks. Yeah. James Gunn last week working for trauma was my first week. He was in Toxie four, but I wasn't on the set that day. I knew his wife at the time better. She babysat our boss's kids. Jenna was later on the office. Yeah. Wow. Oh, Jenna Fisher babysat your boss's kids. That's a plus. Yeah, I do remember that now that they were married. Awesome. Let's see. And he also says, also, I recorded the interview with Stanley at the beginning of Toxie IV, so there's your six degrees of separation. Very nice. I missed the chance to meet James when he and Sean popped into Dragon Con that year and was doing free autographs. I was like, oh, man. Yeah. Man. Let's see. Did I miss anything else? Nope. Well, Shane did say late August, early September for Thunderbolts. Okay. For was the one I was betting on one, by the way. So we're. Oh, okay. Awesome. Thanks, Kevin. Yeah.
