Ep. 117: Halloween Chaos, Scary Movies and 12-Foot Skeletons!
Two geeks, a 12-foot skeleton, and a pile of scary movies walk into a livestream… what could go wrong? 🎃
With Brock and Jess out of town, Kevin and Bo take over the show — and things get delightfully spooky! The guys dive into their favorite scary movies, from Event Horizon to Get Out, swap haunted house stories, show off their insane Halloween decorations (yes, there’s a 12-foot skeleton), and even wander into gaming and DC movie talk.
Laughs, tangents, and total Halloween chaos. It’s the front-porch vibe of Bama Geeks, just with more ghosts and less supervision.

Hey, y'all. It's me, Tara Strong, a.k.a. Miss Minutes for Bama Geeks. I hope you're ready to watch, and if you don't, I will have to prune you. Stay on your sacred timeline. Hello. Hello. Yes, once again, the inmates are running the asylum. Yes. The mystery of this is the mystery stream is that Brock and Jess are not here and they've let us run the show. So prepare, prepare for some craziness. Yes. Well, we actually got the stream to start correctly. We did that good. And don't worry. We are hope we are not planning to do anything that will get us demonetized, but either audio clips or old commercials and all that good stuff. We need to do that on like an official, like discord hangout or something one day. Yes. So, yeah, so Bo and I have been, as everybody is, you know, we come in here on Sunday evening and we have Brock and he's asked us like throughout the week and he's like, what do you guys want to talk about? What do we got going on? And Bo and I came in here and we were like, Man, we just showed up. We don't know what's going on. In his defense, he did say, hey, y'all guys should have a backup because they traveled over this weekend, so they'll be back here soon. Let's see. I didn't see that. Oh, game freakness there from YouTube. Yeah, we can talk. We can talk. We can talk that. That works. This is like we always do what we call our front porch episode. Not front porch. Well, what is it? We're going to be jawing on a little bit with you guys. Yeah. tonight's gonna be randomness yeah it's it's like you know we we could talk games and stuff movies like so this is a open book because jess jess and brock had the more eventful weeks out of the out of the out of i guess the four of us well you did a little bit more than i did kevin but yeah Yeah, we've all kind of had a little bit going on here. Well, yeah, we can definitely talk. I mean, Game Freakness, thank you very much. We can definitely... Yeah, let me write that down so I don't forget. we've, we've, we've got a list of things that we'd like to talk about as well. Obviously, you know, we're coming up on Halloween, right? You know, Halloween's, you know, just what two weeks away, less than two weeks away at this point. Yeah. Yeah. A little bit less than two weeks away at this point. As we're recording this video, of course you, you know, if you're on the live stream here, you're going to see this immediately, but yes. But you know, as, as we record, we're, we're less than two weeks. So we also want to talk a little bit about Halloween decor and things like that. both Bo and I go a little bit crazy on that too. So we'll go ahead and we'll get all the official stuff. I know that can remember, of course, for all your, for all your information on us and for anywhere to find us, it's always Bama geeks.com. And then if you're on the form of social, the social media, even though I know it's a fun place sometimes, but we try to be the positive part of it. You have Bama geeks. That's I know that's everywhere on the, Of course, your YouTube, if you're watching here, Twitch and X and all those fun places. And then, of course, if you are on the social medias on Facebook, the front porch is where we kind of post our stuff. It's kind of like our Facebook group where, hey, I saw this. This is cool. I think you guys could see it too. Share that out. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, if you want to just create a Facebook account and then just bookmark going straight to Front Porch so that you can avoid everything else, then just do it. It's fine. That's not a bad idea. I need to do that in my bookmarks. Yeah, just bookmark the Mamageek Front Porch and just use Facebook specifically for that since, you know, Facebook is for all of us Gen X and boomers. Yeah, and you can create you an alias. Hey, as long as you find a way we know it's you, then, you know. And then, of course, the top supporters, as we do our news ticker down here. Of course, Jamie, Mike, Darnay, and Jack. Thank you, guys. Yes, we greatly appreciate it, as always. I will say, preface this, you probably already know this at this point, unless you're listening right now. We did not get you guys a member episode. Mostly because Bo and I, admittedly, were scrambling. Yes. To get some content. We talked about that, get you some content. We did a little philosophical talking, you know. Yeah. It's all good. But yeah. All right. But you want to hit what you got written down first? Or you want to go right at the gate here with what Game Freakness hit us with here? His favorite movie. Let's do it, man. Let's see. I wouldn't know. Now, are we going like it's a movie where it's Halloween directly? Or you just want to say like a scary movie? Yeah. Yeah. Cause I have to say, cause I feel like scary movie, right? Well, I mean, if you want to go with like fame, favorite movie, that's Halloween centric, the only one that's dropped, that's coming to mind right now, especially cause it's, I haven't watched it in years, but I'd say trick or treat. Yeah. That's, you know, which I'm surprised that hasn't got any kind of sequel. It still, it still hasn't got any kind of sequel. Did it? No, I don't think so. I sort of think, I honestly don't know if I have a favorite, like, I will say we were, Bo and I were talking about this a little bit and I don't know if everyone has seen this yet. I know Bo hasn't seen it, but at least this year, my favorite scary movie was weapons. Yeah. Like I said, everyone's been talking about ranting and raving about it and I need to watch it. It's because the, the, the, the, the reason it's the favorite is because it's kind of like a, it isn't just follow the pattern, you know, and also does it, is it current day? Does it take place like the eighties or something like that? Does it, or did it take place? That's a good question. Was there cell phones present in it? That's one way to tell with it. No. So yeah, it was, it was a little bit. Yeah. Yeah. It was, yeah, it wasn't, it wasn't present day. Um, I, I just thought of one. I just thought of one. Okay. This, this scary movie. It's not the scariest, but it's one that I always think of any time I get behind a log truck. Yes, everyone our age, yes, has been there. If you're a nineties kid, Final Destination. I think that's two. Two is the one with the log truck, I believe. Yeah. Because wasn't it like the third or fourth... The third one's when it scared everybody of roller coasters. Because the opening sequence was a roller coaster. And then there was one of them that had something to do with the NASCAR track where the grandstand messed up. I don't remember what that was. Whoever did the writing for those did a really good job coming up with stuff that was crazy. But I mean... i live where i live um in alabama i'm not too crazy far from a paper mill so there are a lot of log trucks going in there because they put logs in there to make paper like pulp for paper um so i eat right into those a lot and every time i get behind one i just kind of want to get around it because You think of final destination. So final destination, the series itself, maybe not all the movies. I know the, I know the most recent one that just came out and everyone's talking about is really good. It was like, it's supposed to be, I think it's supposed to be the ending to the series or at least until, you know, the quest for more money, you know? Yeah. Yeah. I'd say like really would talk like favorite horror movies because it like, I, the thing about it is I like horror movies, but I don't watch them that often, but I should watch them more. But, uh, uh, but one of mine, cuz it combines two, like, I guess, I guess scariness, but then sci-fi, but, but, uh, event horizon. You ever watched that Kevin? Yes. Yes. That was good. I saw that movie on a whim when I was a teenager. want to say last year was the thirtieth anniversary of it i know it was the nineties so no years no no no no well yeah that might be right i feel bad because i know i got the the four k through uh screen factory let's see i want to see event i feel bad i bet you love the movie and then Let's see. What year did this come out? Nineteen ninety seven. So it was the twenty fifth anniversary of it a couple of years ago. OK, that's when I got. So it's been a solid teenager then. Yeah, I did. I will say this like it's I saw this movie in spawn the same same day. The really. Yes. So after this, I was like, you know what? This is a lot of I think I'm good with, you know, the the Hades evil bad stuff for one day. So that was good. Yeah. Yeah. I was going to say one I just thought of that so far is scary movies. The Shining. Shining is still a classic. Holds up so good. And then it's not as popular and it does have a lot more of a divisive opinion to it, but Dr. Sleep was also very good. I still got to watch Dr. Sleep. I mean, it was really good. And I think we've mentioned this at some point here, but the latest, what was it, Smile II? Yeah. You know, Jack Nicholson's son has a part in that movie. And he does this whole scene where he does the smile and he's coming up on stage with the protagonist on the stage. And the smile he has, it's like, I have had half the people... that I've talked to have been like, it just looks like a smile. And I'm like, that's Jack Nicholson. That's his face. You can tell it's his son. Like, I didn't know it was his son until he didn't smile. And I was like, Oh my God, that's Jack Nicholson. It's just like, it always gets me when you find that iconicness, you know, you can see it, you know? Oh, Yeah. But yeah, The Shining, for sure, was phenomenal. The Shining, like I said, sorry, going back on Event Horizon, I remember watching it, and the amount of people in that movie, of course, the biggest three you've got, you've got Lawrence Fishburne, Sam Neill, and then, oh, I'm blanking on his name, Lucius Malfoy from Harry Potter, Jason Isaacs, Jason Isaacs. That is a combo. Yeah. Oh, yeah. And they were all younger. Yes. But also another reason why I like it, and it kind of ties into one of my favorite horror game series, but Dead Space, which I think to me, if you played the Dead Space games, Event Horizon is the closest you'll ever get to a Dead Space movie. So if you played the Dead Space series and you haven't watched Event Horizon, do yourself a favor and watch it. I need to re-watch that movie. It's been a long time since I've seen that movie. That's good. Like I said, a couple years ago, Screen Factory did a thing. I got the four K. It came with a collector's poster. I like that movie. It's one of the movies I watched and then I just enjoy it. It's so creepy. A lot of still good physical or practical effects. And those hold up when they do practical. That's the one thing. Some of them don't age well, but I'll still take dated practical effects over dated computer effects. You know what I mean? Yes. Even now, watching it, you go watch Jurassic Park, for example, and while Jurassic Park's CG is still good and it holds up, I can start to tell now. When they first do the Brachiosaur, you're like, Yeah. Yeah. I can kind of see it now, you know, but also at the same time, that's also how we, how we consume it like now with four K monitors and extra visual. Like, I think at the time, like, you know, they're like, Oh, they'll never have a better way to see this. You know, we're still watching movies with actual projectors. Like that's one of those little things I've noticed as I've got older that I used to always enjoy was going to the movie theater and looking for the little black dot that would pop up in the corner of of the, of the, of movies where, you know, the film was about the, it'd be pasted. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Yes. Yeah. Um, but yeah, I was going to, I was going to mention something. We're still talking horror movies. Yeah. Like, like, like I know everyone rants and raves about the terror, terror fire series. And I know the guy I play art, it's from Alabama. You got to watch it eventually. You know what? I'm going to be honest. I'm probably going to get some hate for this probably. I don't really like them that much. I think from what I understand, it's people who like a lot of the graphic type movies. It seemed to enjoy the Terrifier, which that's fine. Hey, whatever outlet you enjoy your movies, hey. And I mean, I'll watch it, but then I may not because what was the movie Eli Roth did a long time ago? Hostel, which was mostly a lot of graphic and kind of stuff. And yeah, that was, you know, when it gets a little crazy like that, I don't know. Maybe, maybe I, I mean, I have been very out. It's always seems like I'm, I'm boasting and I'm not really, but I'm kind of wired up wrong when it comes to, to, um, to, to like scary movies when i go into a scary movie instead of like being scared and stuff i start laughing at them so it's like i have a that's just my initial reaction and i've i've talked to folks and i'm running other folks that do the same thing and it's like i've always thought i was weird because i laugh at it and if you're in a movie theater and people are scared to death and you're laughing at the thing they think you're crazy like is this guy You're actually scarier than the movie. I was in the middle. I take a date to see Dr. Sleep. They specifically, because she didn't believe me when I told her and we were in there and we, it was getting to the part where they're they, they first encounter the gypsy caravan and I know you haven't seen it, but, and we find out what the gypsies are doing and things. And it just, just in, That movie doesn't get like crazy visceral, but there's some sections in it that are scary. And I would just start laughing and she's like, oh my God, I'm terrified. And you're over here laughing. And I'm like, yeah, that's usually what everyone else's reaction is too. So it's just, that's kind of how I gauge it. That's how scary things are. Like, you know, The Shining, you know, I don't know when I developed the whole laughing thing, but like the shining is one that would do that. And the thing is like the terrifier, it wasn't really that scary. It's just like, like you just said, hostile. It wasn't scary. It was just kind of like just brutal. Yeah. No. Yeah. Yeah. The brutal, I like, I guess like when it comes to like horror or something scary for me, I like suspenseful, like something that's going to keep me kind of wondering how we're going to survive this, how they are, how they're going to survive this, you know? what's coming next? Where's it going to come from? I like, I like a good old fashioned jump scare. Yeah. I mean, you know, don't overdo it, but I like, you know, and I guess like, I like a, I guess a messed up situation. It's kind of like, you kind of look back on like Texas chainsaw and all that stuff where it's just like, this is twisted and terrible. How are these, these characters going to survive this? That's once again, I think that may be a while like event arising is it is a very, very messed up situation of survival. When it has a really good, unique story. Yeah. Like, you know, we like to joke about, you know, the Alabama Hide and Creep movie that we watched last year. And, you know, Brock likes to, you know, because it had a little bit of frontal nudity at the very beginning of it. You know, he didn't particularly prefer that. And I definitely would not recommend that as a family film. Yeah. Yeah. Hide and creep is not going to be on. Yeah. Don't, don't, don't show that after Hocus Pocus or anything. No, no, but it's, it is difficult to find. I think it's Donald to me, but, but it's, it's, you know, it's one of those films where, you know, the charm of it is it's kind of unique. The story, they, they did something unique where it was, you know, a zombie invasion in a zombie apocalypse and an alien invasion at the same time. I like things like that, whether it may be, treading on like the whole bunch of like TV and movie tropes to, to do it. Well, they had fun with it. Yeah. Well, the small, the smallness of it makes it fun. Like I like it where, you know, like I said, it's, it's a, it was a local film and all that stuff. So I can, you know, I can, I can go along with cheesy tropes. Cause that works. Oh, what was the movie? Oh, that's what you got me thinking. Talking about like zombie movies and absurdity. Have you, have you watched, I don't know if I, I think we talked, I don't know if we've talked about it, but is it the dead don't die? so it's got uh bill murray and uh bill murray's in it oh what was that movie it was the oh crud it's a zombie movie but um till the swanson like it's there's a lot of high profile people in it um i don't think i've seen it yet you do yourself a favor it's it's a little it's kind of like a wes anderson quirky type movie do yourself a favor watch i liked it okay okay Adam Driver, Bill Murray. I haven't seen that. I don't think it's getting by me, man. What the heck? I think it released during like, with COVID. It was made pre-COVID and then it got released and all that. So I think it may have been I will tell you guys, I may have mentioned this last year because this movie came out. This was totally off the wall. This came out in twenty fourteen. I'm actually ninety nine percent sure I mentioned this last year, but I think I'll probably mention it every year because I want to make sure everybody watches it. There is a a film called a girl walks home alone at night. And it is an Iranian based film. So it's, it's based in an Iranian town. So it is kind of, if you don't, if you're not, if you're turned off to foreign language films, you're probably not going to like it as much. So you want to definitely turn on subtitles. The whole premise is it's unique in that it's it's just a very unassuming small woman who, who she's a vampire and um she walks that's exactly what it sounds like she walks home alone at night because that's how she feeds is she is small and unassuming and then men try to you know take advantage of her and uh it doesn't turn out well for them um so the the the film kind of develops out of that. And then you have other characters that interact with, with her. And it's, it's like an invisible scare kind of thing. And just the way that it's written, it has an incredibly high tomato meter score. That's like ninety six percent, I think, with just the satisfaction. It is an incredibly good movie. It's a good watch. And it's not even like arts. It's kind of artsy ish. But at the same time, it's it's like the same as I mentioned earlier. I look for movies and I tend to get attracted to movies that have an actual. their own story in it. They're just not trying to, you know, remake something, some other trope. Like, you know, a lot of our, like, like for example, you know, nightmare on Elm street, attacking you through your dreams kind of thing, you know, at some point it had been done, but at the same time, the way they did it was better and it was good. You know, it was, it was really, really good. But then you have movies that come after that, where they do that too. And it just kind of, I don't know, to me, it just feels like it's tired and it's like, it's already been done, but yeah, when when you get movies like that that where it's like uh you know you don't even when you're watching the movie you don't even realize and then i may have spoiled it for some of you guys but you don't even realize the girl's a vampire until you know you it's like she's like i mean she's a vampire she's super strong um and you have some of the main characters that are interacting with her and you and then you're sitting here going dude what are you doing He's very obviously a vampire and she's... Yeah, it's one of those movies where you're just trying to... Let me think. You're more apt to consume this. Did you watch the... It was a Korean horror movie called Train to Busan where it was like zombies on a train. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. That was one of the best movies. Okay. I thought about it. I just remember about it because I think I was going to watch it and I never did. So, okay. Thank you. It is incredibly good. Obviously, you have to be... It's the same as like with Squid Game. You have to be okay with... watching the subs and stuff. I watch American language stuff with subtitles now. What are you talking about? That's one thing I can say about being engaged to a person who has a different nationality than me is that I've gotten used to subtitles being on. There are times when she needs the subtitles on to keep up with Um, um, you know, just, just, we speak fast sometimes in movies and it's difficult to keep up and I've gotten used to just having the subs on for everything. And it just works out really well. That's to be like every, we watch everything with subtitles. Now it's just, it's, you know, it's, it's easier to consume. I don't know. I think I will say coming back to it. I think you'll like weapons when you guys get a chance to watch it. It's kind of going with the theme that I'm going with here. It's a movie that has its own. There are parts of it that have been used before, but the way they do it and the way that the movie is delivered is really awesome. Where it's like chapters of the people of each individual person that was affected in the movie. And I'm being very vague because I don't want to ruin anything for you. It's, I think it just dropped on physical. I might need to pick up a copy. It's one that's worth having. It really is. And if they keep expanding, I think they've confirmed that they are doing that prequel movie with the primary antagonist of the movie. I want to see what you think of her and how that happens because that's... Man, that movie is nuts. I... Yeah, I have to watch. I have to watch horror flicks on my own. My fiance will do it. She just doesn't like that. She doesn't like to be scared. My wife's the same way. She's not she's not a real big horror person. She'll watch them. But like I tell you, since we're going to talk funny things, you know, the two movies like she will not watch, even if they're not categorized as horror, even though they're suspenseful there because they're like two or her like worst characters. nightmares but of course anything involving dinosaurs because like some reason why the idea of like a dinosaur being out now like in day is one of those things like it just it terrifies her like you know i mean you know not like really that anything involving aliens which is even funnier because like one of my comfort shows to rewatch all the time is the x-files so wow Has she never seen Shoebill Storks before? I don't think so. I think the movie that messed her up on aliens was fire in the sky, which honestly that that's fair. That's fair. That's very fair. Well, to be clear, I'm talking in reality. If you're talking about dinosaurs being around now, because Shoebill Storks are like freaking dinosaurs. The actual creature, it's a stork called a Shoebill Stork. Oh, yeah. It's like a freaking dinosaur. I know exactly what you're talking about. If I was terrified of dinosaurs being in real, it's like, that's a dinosaur. It's like literally a dinosaur. Those things prove that the birds evolved from dinosaurs. Yes. that's wild though i mean god man she was she must hate jurassic park then yeah we've tried to watch terrifying we tried to watch jurassic park and uh it didn't work out like she she can't watch them like say like i watch them and then i'm about to leave for work or something you know but and you go to turn that off when you leave right yeah That's two of hers. Like I said, she can't function. It's just one of those things like, I don't want to watch this and you not be here or something or whatever. They've made like ten of the Jurassic Park movies now, right? Jurassic Park and Jurassic World. I ain't going to lie. I still get a little PTSD. One of the things that still scares me is the Xenomorphs from Aliens. Yes. Those are some of the most terrifying creature designs. I mean, ten out of ten. And the thing is, is it's not, they're like a one, two combo because you've got the xenomorphs, but then you also have the face huggers. Well, see, that's like I did when I was in high school. We did the alien. My eye thing made me look... Wow, that's weird. Okay, sorry. I usually think it helps me keep my eye on the camera. And there it is. My eye just went like... So it's... Either way. Sorry, I got distracted there. The ride at Disney, it's like Alien Encounter. Yeah. I was sitting there. I was ready to push the bar. I physically moved the bar trying to get out of there because that's how creeped out I got by it. That was before they rebranded it to the more family-friendly Stitch version of it there for a while. I will tell you this. For a while there, I was really big into doing VR, like virtual reality on computers and things. One thing... I like to play tough when it comes in. I don't laugh when I go to horror movies and things like that. But when it comes to scary movies, when you're in VR, you literally have one of your entire senses is completely consumed by something. You can't look away. You look away and you're still there. that I don't understand how people do that in VR. I had some scary, I bought like two or three scary games in VR that involved you being in the dark and things sneaking up on you. Nope. Nope. I just take it off and I'm like, ah, no, I'm done. I'm done. See, that's, That's where I haven't consumed many horror movies, but I have consumed so many horror games. I love scary horror games. Of course, I'm at Dead Space. Dead Space, Resident Evil. I like Dead Space, and there's another one, Callisto Protocol, which is zombies or scary monsters in space. I don't know what it is about that I just love. I love the, and it's not the same thing, you know, Doom. That was always kind of more comical, you know, superhero killing, you know. The Doom Slayers, especially the newer Dooms, the newer last few Dooms have been awesome. Granted, we get into games here a little bit, but Serious Sam was another big one. That was an offshoot of Doom. Duke Nukem. You remember Duke Nukem back in the day? The amount of all those clones, you had Duke Nukem, then you got into the Shadow Warrior... And then one of my favorites just for us in our land of Appalachia, Redneck Rampage. Did you ever remember playing this? Yes. I don't know why that game has not been remastered or something because that game was so much stinking fun. And even though it's a lot of cliche Southern stereotypes, once again, it is so much stinking fun. Yeah, that has not been remastered, but they did another postal game. How has that not come back? It must have something to do with the studio being locked or something. Yeah, I think it was Interplay, which Interplay is kind of one of those weird game studios from back in the day that was huge, and then it's kind of like all its properties are in limbo. probably owned by EA now, which will now be only doing certain games since it's being, it was purchased by some other investors. Well, which that's going to be weird with EA. Cause you saw how EA got bought by like, was it basically the UAE bought EA? That's insane. That's insane. So I fully expect the game catalog and the focus for EA is going to change considerably. Yeah. Likely because of that. So we'll see how it goes. But yeah, I know we got into the game land here a little bit, but I'm trying to think of any other, like, I mean, I get game free. I don't know. I guess the summation here, I don't know if we could give you a favorite. Really? There are so many. I don't, I guess I couldn't have like, it's, like of course like i said event horizon i would watch it if it's on i pop it on uh yeah i don't yeah Then if you want to get into like scary or spooky or whatever, like I like the Frighteners. I like to pop the Frighteners in every so often. That's just a good more. It's more comedy. It's kind of along the lines of like Ghostbusters type thing. I like the Frighteners. I mean, Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice. I mean, that's a Halloween movie. Hocus Pocus. I never really. I mean, they're OK. And I kind of look forward to them doing a third one. That would be really cool. I hope they ended in a third one. But, you know, yeah, that would be nice. But favorite Halloween. Yeah. I mean, we used to do, like, Halloween movie marathons, and that's, you know, like I said, the traditionals. Of course, Cabin in the Woods has become a new favorite, too. I mean, there's one we haven't mentioned, Bo. What's that? I guess it could be considered a Halloween movie, and it's kind of the reason you and I met again after high school. Ghostbusters. Yes, of course. The thing about, like, Ghostbusters is, like, it is, yes, it is what it deals with. Its nature is Halloween, but I just... It's a comedy, really. It's a comedy. Well, I don't even know. Yes, in its core factor, Ghostbusters is based on comedy, just on the actor. There's things I laugh at at Ghostbusters, but it's just a movie I enjoy. I mean, obviously, because as much... I mean, I got a freaking proton pack behind me, but I mean... Yeah. I guess Ghostbusters was kind of like that thing. It was my... adventure i grabbed i gravitated to when i was a kid i will say um what one that i that i totally forgot about that came back out uh came out back in twenty seventeen was get out did you ever watch yeah i i i all the jordan pill movies i need to watch i haven't watched get out i want to watch uh nope nope really looks like it's up my alley of course nope is really good was uh the get out was better um But Nope was really good. I will say I saw that him, that movie that just came out, him about the football. I saw that it was from Monkey Paul, but it didn't have, you know, Jordan Pills, any of his stuff. He wasn't credited on it at all. It was just from that. And it has lower ratings. Okay. Yeah. I will say that his version of Candyman was really good too. Oh, yeah. That was a really good movie. It kind of had a weird ending and it wasn't as good, but it was effective. Was he, was he involved in that, that, that kind of that relaunch of a saw? Was it a jigsaw movie? I know. Was he involved in that? I don't remember. I had to look that up. That's another series. I watched the first two movies, and then I didn't watch any of the other ones. And I will say, shameless plug here, some of my favorite comfort watch movies are the scary movies. They're not... Obviously, they're puns of Halloween-esque type scary movies, right? You know, scary movie? Yeah. The whole franchise. A scary movie itself, of course. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So like... If I just – comedy-wise, if I just want to sit down and watch something, just seeing those make puns. Anytime I think of Saw, for example, I forget which one of the scary movies it was that had the intro to Saw that had Dr. Phil. It was Dr. Phil and Shaq. Yeah. that was like one of the best intros of any of the scary. So like, just go in and look into the, you know, and I don't know if you know this or not, but we have another scary movie coming. Yeah. They're supposed to be doing one. And I'm, I'm, I'm looking forward to, I'm hoping, which I still need to watch naked gun. I hope. With Naked Gun coming back and then they're bringing back Scary Movie. I miss slapstick movies. I think they got a little absurd and too ridiculous. And then modern day, just make a silly movie. I have seen Naked Gun. I know we've talked about it just a little bit. I was worried Seth MacFarlane was going to Seth MacFarlane it too much. He's great. He's a good writer, but he has a... It's kind of like Spielberg in a way. He has a formula. But with Spielberg's formula, it works. He just applies it, but he can meld himself into the source material, and you just know it's got Spielberg quality. But with Seth MacFarlane, you get the Seth MacFarlane-isms in everything that he does, like Family Guy and all that stuff that he's done. When he did Naked Gun, his version... oh my god it it it feels right it feels right you definitely tell he did his his research he probably rewrote the script several times oh yeah to take his himself out of it but it was really good it was it was really i think yeah oh yeah actually this it's it's weird i'll go through that's i'll talk about movies but i'll go through phases where i'll watch movies and then i'll go cold turkey and not watch a movie for a while it's i'll play more games than i do watch movies so that's I will tell everybody here, and I will shut up about Naked Gun, if you watch it, watch the credits. And I mean the actual credits of the people's names. Watch those because there are so many little Easter eggs in the credits. It's crazy. At one point, they even give out a Netflix password. That's beautiful. That's beautiful. Oh, man. So Game Freakness also asked us, did you do a Superman review? I think we did talk about Superman. I think we talked a little bit about Superman. We didn't do an in-depth review. I think that will be one that Game Freakness, if you're listening, we can mention that one to Brock and maybe we'll see if we can do a little bit more on it maybe with our next one. Maybe do the next one because Peacemaker just wrapped up. We could talk about that next time. I've got to catch up. I'm about halfway through the season even though I know what things happen later on thanks to social media. One of the good things about James Gunn is he's figured it out. Unlike some of the other DC heads, he's actually trying to build an interweaving story go all uh mcu he's trying to make the dcu more like that so he's actually using every single show every single movie at his disposal great and we're still early on but you can still see the pieces of him pulling in things from the snyder verse and and and actually just kind of making it work because it doesn't work to just like deny that that stuff exists just pull it in well the cool make it work Well, the cool thing about like, you know, it's there, like I said, what Marvel's doing now with this multiverse where the multiverse is the core, the core of it now, or like, you know, at least with his, it seems like, yeah, Hey, the multiverse exists, but this is going on here. This is the main focus. yeah yeah it's like it's a spotlight and it's yeah but this is still going on right yeah yeah no here's where the spotlight's at exactly and then we're gonna move the spotlight and then we're gonna move the spotlight yeah you know instead it's a bit of a different approach i like it i think well it's good it allows you don't have to do all the homework to enjoy it that makes sense you can yeah you can you can jump in the middle of it and not have to worry about it too much so yeah but uh Yeah, we'll see if we can follow back up on that game for instance, if we can do that. So I think I had jotted down here at the very least. Yeah, let's get on that. Was, you know, you guys... may not know this. You probably do if you have watched or listened to the podcast in the past, but both Bo and I like to decorate. We like to do Halloween decorations. Bo's getting a little further into it this year than he has in the past. Do you want to talk a little bit about what you've done? Well, my big thing is I'm fixing to get the picture pulled up here for it. I'm going to get my photos here, but we'll see. You got to pull out the photos. Yeah. I took a few. I meant to, I was going to set up the camera and do the, like a delayed video, but like the way things were going, I was just like, no, let me go ahead and get it, put it up. Cause I'm not going to lie. I did have an Epic dad crash out at one point, putting it together. And I didn't know if we wanted to edit out that part of it. Let me see me get a few photos here that I will share. All right. Now here we go. We were super prepared, guys. Oh, yeah. Once again, this is – yeah, it's – Let's see. We're going to – I'll pull a couple of them out as well. We're going to show you guys just some decorations, some things that we've done. A lot of the things I did, I did last year. But every year I build on to it and do a little bit more and a little bit more. I'll show you guys a handful of pictures. Let's see. All right. There, there, there. Yeah, okay, good. All right, buddy, you ready? Yeah, go ahead. Oh, you're talking to me? Go ahead. Yeah. All right. All right. Let's see. Present. Sure. All right. Let me get mine up here. Of course. All right. There, like I said, yeah, kind of, you can see where I started. There's his, there's his feet. Cause like he's a, he's a, he's a tall skilly boy. He's the twelve foot Home Depot skeleton. So there's his feet there. We kind of put them in there and my wife wanted to look like he's coming out of the woods. Kind of, he's right next to the driveway. So I was like, that's, that's cool. He's he's, he's at display, but he's not going to be like in the way the whole, whole time. Then there was, I started with his feet. Then I got, then I did this, there's his shins and his legs. And I think I don't, I don't have any much more to, I think I was like, I took that one, then got distracted. And then, oh, then I got, there's, there's the hips that the crazy thing about this, you can put all this up together. without kind of like it uh you by yourself or it's sitting there but then once you get the hips on there you gotta like lay it over it even has instructions on the box to lay it on the box it came in and then you apply the rest of it because that's the tricky part and then of course there's there's the last part of it but what i wound up doing i don't think it'll let me zoom in I love that you got him in the, in the woods. Like he's right on the edge of the woods. Like he's coming out of the woods. That's amazing. Yeah. We've got some, uh, like some, uh, all, daylight, dark lights on it right now. They're battered, solar powered, but I'm eventually, uh, he actually has like, uh, eyes that'll move and blink, which is funny. You were talking about like how you could change him for the holidays. He actually has heart eyes. So that'll be good for when Valentine day comes around. So, They knew what you were going to do. They knew it. Yeah. Well, they know that. Yeah. But, um, but yeah, like I said, he's there. And also like around the center of his spine, I got a piece, there's a website called secure a skelly.com and they make a lot of the supplies to like help secure him. But the only bought one piece, but it's a metal piece that goes on his spine and it overlaps. And what I did is I took some, uh, guide wire, like a hundred pound test guide wire, and he's tethered to the trees. So he shouldn't fly forward. Um, But then on his base around his feet, I didn't, I didn't take a picture of it there, but on his base near his feet there, I've got, they're basically like trampoline spikes where they're down there where it's because it's going to, that's the other thing with him being close to woods. He won't be in a direct wind. If the wind does blow, he's going to, you know, at least have some shield, but he, I, uh, he's got about six to eight spikes in his feet. So he isn't going nowhere. We're going to have an actual like hurricane at our door for him to go anywhere. So, uh, But, yeah, that was my big addition. We have our traditional blowups. I'm going to do it next year. I was going to do it this year, but I do want a sign that either says, like, welcome to Raccoon City or welcome to Silent Hill in my yard. I want to do that. But, once again, the gaming whore, that's in me. But, yeah, this guy's staying up all year. We're going to decorate him to the year accordingly. but that's for me on mine. Like I said, it took me about, it took me about an hour, hour and a half to put them together, but that was just me taking my time and one dad crash out and, you know, sweet. So, um, I don't have, um, the twelve foot skeleton. I, not yet. I would, I, that's something I'll, I'll want to look into. I tend to do, I tend to do like one to two major, one, generally one major purchase a year. Last year it was the, uh, groundbreaking skeleton from, um, Costco, which I'll, I'll, I'll just jump right on in and show you guys my display. So this is my, looking at it from an angle, this is my full display. Um, It might be a little bit for viewers at home or regardless of viewers for listeners. What I'm doing is I'm showing the full display of my Halloween display this year. So some of the biggest additions I had had this the singing pumpkin off to the side here last year. But I don't know if I actually showed my full display last year. The big centerpiece in my display is Ghostbusters, and I don't know how easily I can zoom in on this. Maybe we can see. Yeah, there we go. There we go. Yeah, all right. But... So you can see basically the way it works is I've got I've got the fifteen foot staple from Halloween costumes dot com. This is why I've had so many different conversations and I've said so many things in the past podcast about them doing the thirty three foot and now the fifty foot version. That guy right there, you're talking about securing something down. He barely stands up the way he is. I had to actually add something to secure him to my house to keep him from falling over. I have no idea how the fifty foot version will even stay up. But those I actually have all four Ghostbusters this year. The past years I've had three. This year I have four. So I have four streams. Those are just LED lights that are running up a guide wire. The guide wire is connected to my house. And As you see it here, it's static. But if you're like my poor neighbors across the street, it's like Vegas. It's flashing constantly and going between all the different colors. And then this year I picked up the Jimmy Trick or Treat Ecto. So I've got the full thing. I've got the Ectomobile as well this year. And, um, you can't see it from there, but one of the other features I have is I did this last year, but this, this, this year I improved it and did more. Uh, it's the, uh, pet cemetery slashed out, but it's a petting zoo. So like basically it's got a whole bunch of, you have to kind of zoom in here to look, but it's got a whole bunch of, uh, graves in the backyard background with skeletons in it and it's the whole idea is that the grave digger dug up all of the skeletons and those are the ones that are you know that you're able to go out and let's see yeah you have a cow an armadillo is that a there's a dog in the front right next to a a warning for people not to steal my stuff because you're on camera. And then there's a snake back there. There's two dogs, a turtle, a cow. There is an armadillo, a cat. There's a big wolf dog. There is a duck with ducklings. Nice. A big spider. There's a rat. I, I, I've gotten almost all the ones at Home Depot or Home Depot, a tractor supply, except for the big one. I don't want to get the big one because it doesn't. It's like it's like the big chicken. It doesn't look like it fits in there. So, yeah, there's a house about a couple of miles away from me. He's got the chicken. It looks cool. But, yeah, I understand you want to keep everything somewhat. Yeah. So I've got the smaller chicken. But then you got your big skelly boy there behind you. Yeah, and I've got him as well. He's got new lights this year, so he's kind of illuminated green. He looks really cool. And kind of piggybacking off what Bo said, he stays up for Christmas. So you'll actually likely see if you follow me on socials or you follow Baby Geek from Porch, I'll probably post a picture up of this guy. Obviously, the spider web will go away. But he'll stay there, and he actually has a big candy cane that he holds, and he has a Santa hat that he goes on as well. So he will be a Christmas display this year. And I don't know if you saw – let me unshare this thing. This is where we'll continue talking. I don't know if you saw it, but Amazon Prime did their big Prime sale not too long ago. And then, of course, Walmart being Walmart, they do their anti-Prime sale, which is their old thing, and it always lasts a little bit longer. Walmart deal days or whatever. Yeah, deals for days or something. So they actually were selling their four-foot Little Debbie inflatable at a discount. Nice. So guess what I'm going to have this year? Oh, dude, no. I showed that to my fiance and she was like, Oh my God, are you kidding me? I was like, but they're, they're Christmas tree cakes. Okay. You know, we, we got, we got a, we, we, and it's, so basically it's a big four foot Christmas tree cake, like a little debut Christmas tree cake. And you can get that at Walmart. It's about thirty, I think it's about forty bucks normally. I think that's what it is, but it was down like in the twenty, twenty dollar range when I got it. So, But yeah, both Bo and I are big into Halloween. I actually started putting this up in early September. Normally, my tradition is to put it in after I get back from Dragon Con, but we had so much going on. I was like, I'll do it next week, and then we had a couple things going on. I was later, like I said, it was... Shoot, we're not far from having our... our Halloween desk displays up. We did get some light. Well, of course my wife, she likes to put the lights and we've got some Halloween theme lights and we got some, you can change it where it's like the traditional Halloween colors of like a purple, orange and green, but you can click a button on it. It can be solid color. So she put them up middle of September. So for all of September, we had orange lights on the front porch. So for kind of fall. Yeah. Yeah. There you go. oh nice oh you're working oh so you're a filmmaker oh cool that's awesome man yeah are you are you since i guess you bring it are you is it horror or you what kind of genre you're looking to work at there i mean but uh while we're waiting on the game for yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah um This year, I'd love to hear what you guys think in the chat. This year, people have their opinions about this, but I think I was talking to Bo about this earlier. I think this year, as I'm taking down Halloween after Halloween, I'm just going to put Christmas up, which means I will be putting Christmas up before Thanksgiving. I would love to hear what folks think about that. I'm still traditionalist. I understand. As for me being the person, I get it. But at the same time, I'm still... I don't know. But it's got better. Oh, a Christmas movie. Nice. Okay. Let's see what you said here. Christmas. There's a Christmas movie. I'm working on my next one right now, which is a mystery. Oh, nice. Well, I... I hope your endeavors on that is really awesome. I mean, we need more. We need more. Is it a Christmas movie or is it a Hallmark Christmas movie now? Now, you know, there might be a little. Hey, ever how you get your break, I'm happy for you, but I'm going to say, you know. I'm convinced that AI makes up that stuff. It makes up Hallmark movies. It just has canned scripts. And there's Jessica there. They were, like I said, they were out of town. Well, if anyone ever finds themselves in Celebration, Florida during Halloween, you will see some. I did. I saw some of your guys' pictures, which let's see. I don't know where y'all posted them. I think it was on your reel. So that's something I can't share. And I don't want to share anything without giving that nothing too personal. So you guys will have to do, have to share that the next time. It depends on what your director wants to do. I prefer not Hallmark. Hey, I understand that. But then at the same time, hey, if it gets your script published, you can be at least, hey, you know, then you can do the remake. You know, we're one of the five to ten different versions of Hallmark movies. Yes. But they just change it up. As Jeff said, I saw some of those pictures and wow, they in celebration of Florida, they do not play around with their Halloween decorations. Like it was a lot. And of course I, there were some of them that were Disney theme. Like I saw one, one of them where they had a cool Disney villain theme, like set up. It looked really cool. Yeah, I'm hoping to go down there one day and see that. I think that would be awesome. With me, with Disney, I did Universal Studios last year, and I really enjoyed it. I didn't do Disney. I did Disney Springs. It's just, I don't know what it is. It's like going to Dragon Con. It's a lot of people and a lot of lines and things like that. It's tough. yeah it's it's interesting like with me like it's i know the disney lovers which we have you know two on our podcast that are very big disney lovers like i think like now i've got worse it's the the folks have got really over enthusiastic about which i mean i i get over enthusiastic things about things too but like i don't know yeah Yeah, I don't know. We're going to eventually do a family trip to Disney because I carry my son, and I do want to ride the Tron ride, which that's the other interesting topic of the weekend is everyone's divisiveness on that movie. Hey, you know what? I saw a post earlier that said Tron is the number one movie in the world. It is true. Was that by Jared Leto? Did he say that? I know. It doesn't feel like it is here because it has not done very well. I think it's doing well overseas, which I mean, you know. The thing about Tron movies is... I like Legacy. I really like Legacy. I was about to say, this is coming from somebody who absolutely loves Legacy. It's a phenomenal movie, but I feel like Tron movies should just go direct-to-DVD. Because they never do well in theaters. I don't know why their view and just the way that they're presented would look amazing in theaters. And I've heard a lot of people say that Tron Ares is beautiful in theater. But it's just something about Tron. It just never does well in theaters. I think it's probably the whole concept of the movie, living in the movies. Yes, I saw that too, of course. Brock got to see his Mervay before they flew back. Of course, I was going to be – I was waiting for that picture. I knew it had to happen. Well, maybe we can get you guys to talk about a little bit of that whenever y'all are back on. I know Brock and Jess are both jet lagged right now. Oh, gosh, I can imagine. They have had a busy go-go weekend. I think they've been going since Thursday. Yeah. So we will, we will definitely see them, uh, the next time around, uh, whenever we do another one. So the next scheduled, which should be, uh, the twenties C. No, that'll be, geez. Oh, wow. That'll be November the eighth. Oh, wow. In November. Yes. Remember, remember the eighth of November. Oh, God. Hey, Brock, we already got your, we got the name of the, the next, the next podcast, the title. All right. Remember the eighth of November. All right. So here, here we go. Think James Gunn or Zack Snyder, Superman was better. All right. Let's see. Oh, yeah, that's tough, man. Come on. All right. I like James Gunn's Superman as, I guess, the person. He's a little bit more optimistic, which I do like Zack Snyder's Cavill's Superman. He's the power Superman. Yes. Yes. Like he's the, he's the somatic, you know, you want to see Superman just clobber a big monster, which I mean, he was also, he was a little bit more down to earth, but I think that was also the direction. But like, yeah, I like, I like guns. Superman's person better. I did. I like capital. Don't get me wrong. There's no, there's no, Deny it there, but I like both of them. I'm one of the weirdos that my favorite Superman movie is still Superman Returns. Superman Returns is a good Superman movie. I mean, the thing was they tried to continue Donner. The Donnerverse, right? And it just didn't work. Folks didn't buy it. That's why they went a different way whenever they did Superman the next time. Which is... Was that pre-Iron Man? I want to say it did. It happened before Iron Man. Yeah, it did. It did happen before. So it was right before the cusp of all this. I believe it had been maybe a couple years later. It might have grabbed better. Yeah, I think so. But it was... That said, I loved the Donnerverse. So when... To me... The Zack Snyder Superman is, I think that that one is more, he's more powerful. He feels more powerful. It's exactly what I would expect from Zack Snyder. And I don't say that in a negative way because he's a good filmmaker, but you know what you're going to get with him. You're going to get a very like powerful just like three hundred, for example. You know, that was like the best, the first real big thing that we got from Zack Snyder that I think everybody remembers was like that was an incredibly powerful movie. And, you know, just seeing him going into Superman at that point, that was huge. But the James Gunn version was, He literally pulls the John Williams theme and plays it on the guitar for that. So it feels like instead of him feeling like a like almost like Batman, like he's more dark and more like intimidating. It feels more like the Boy Scout again. He feels more like Superman because Superman, his whole thing was, yeah, yeah, he's super powerful, blah, blah, blah, but he's also a Boy Scout and he's kind of boring. And I like that about Superman. That was always the positive thing for me when it comes to just like the original Christopher Reeve Superman. That was what I liked. So he's brought that back, but he makes him vulnerable. Like it does well that he needs a team. It made me think, though, the biggest thing between the two is Snyder Superman, he was a god struggling to be a man, where Gunn Superman is a man struggling to be a god type thing. You know what I mean? Not a god in the sense of an omnipotent being, but a supreme being. Yeah. Cause like, that's, that's the one thing I like about, like I said, especially that whole spill there at the end where he, you know, he goes, I get up every day. I'm scared. You know, he's end of the day. He's still, that makes him human more than anything. Like that's that, that moment, that moment in the movie is really strong. Yeah. I will say, oh, Jess just said something. All right, let's see. And let me go again. Freakness is talking about some of the seriousness of it. Yeah, but that's Gunn's forte. He's always going to have a little lightheartedness, even though he'll hit you with something hard. Because, like, Guardians Volume Three, I couldn't tell you the couple times I got misty-eyed in Guardians Volume Three, even though there was a little bit of humor. And then also, Jess says, I also received a movie recommendation from Rookie, Night of the Creeps. Great eighties movie there. Great eighties scary Halloween horror movie. I haven't watched it in years, but it's up there with, like, the stuff, if you've ever watched the stuff. It's kind of in that. Yeah, Night of the Creeps is amazing. And then Jess goes here and say, I'm also happy to report that he watched Maximum Overdrive and Running Man for the first time. Thanks to us. Well, that is wonderful for Running Man. Maximum Overdrive. You can watch it once and you're okay. You can say you watched it. Yeah. You can see super early Gene Carl Esposito. I can't think of her name. Julie. No, no. Julie Cartwright is the other voice that played Lisa from Simpsons. Oh, yeah. She was in that. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, Maximum Overdrive, is it the best movie you ever know? No. But it's a movie. It's fun. Yeah. I mean, it's one of those movies that if they rebooted it now, we would just all die instantly. As always, my cliche, I like to say it is a product of its time. Yes. Well, I mean. But Running Man is a product of its time, but it's still so good. And, you know, we've got, was it this year? Is it this year or early next year? We've got the reboot for Running Man coming out. That looks like it's, I mean, it's a bit different, but it looks like it's going to be good. Well, it kind of looks like a little bit of the jackpot. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I liked it, yeah. So, what did Game Freakness say? You thought Halloween Inn sucks? Give me just a second to be right back. What did he say? You know, Game Freakness, I'm going to go ahead and say I don't even think I've seen that movie, if it tells you anything. It just didn't... It didn't even appeal to me. So... I'm going to go with you saying it sucked because I have no idea. I mean, maybe it's one I need to just sit down and watch. I'm not sure about that. Something was making noise in the background. I didn't want to get too loud. He went into dad mode. He said, I got to go find out what it is. Yeah. Now I've yet to watch any of the new Halloween movies. Yeah. I have no idea. Yeah. I know it's the Halloween. It's bypasses. All the other sequels pass Halloween too, I believe, or no, it bypasses all the sequels. It's supposed to be a sequel to the original movie. And then you have Halloween something and then it's Halloween something and then Halloween ends. Right. You know one thing I don't know if we ever hit on last time when we were talking about Superman? Who's your favorite Lex Luthor? Did we ever do that? Did we ask that? Did we talk about that? Because I remember, like, because obviously the big one comes up, you know, Kevin Spacey. You know, regardless of your feelings on him, his Lex Luthor was really good. That is one of the strong points of that movie. I mean... Yeah, your personal feelings on him aside, the dude always, he never phones anything in. He always raises a game. Yeah. I can still watch a movie for that performance of a character, but still think, yeah, the person that played them was bad, but I'm watching this movie, you know. I mean, Gene Hackman. Gene Hackman's a good solid one. I mean, he's kind of the template in a way, you know, when it comes to the movies, right? Because he was kind of the one who, you know, I think a lot of us remembered as it was. You know, Michael Rosenbaum was really good as well. Well, then, of course, we want to talk about good Luther Clancy Brown from the animated Superman. Yes. Yep. Clancy Brown, his is great. Ah, shoot. And then, of course, Nicholas Holt in Gun Superman was really good. A lot of people didn't like him because he seems like he's too emotional, but I think it's... You don't understand. People forget. He hates Superman because he's everything he's not. Therefore, he hates Superman. And he's very clear on that. His plan almost worked in this. So it made him... it made him almost more comic book-esque in a way like his plan almost worked and he was foiled at the very last second yep i don't know i know that wasn't the best of answers there but i don't know i think that both uh i think both uh guns superman and you know the the the dark sepia tone superman they were both really good in their own way I do feel like that it's good that we moved on and that we are back into a more Donnerverse-style Superman. But I will tell you this, Game Freakness, if you're looking forward to the... you know, the whole new DCU being more, you know, serious, it's not going to happen because next thing, next up we got lanterns, right? Yeah. And lanterns is going to be nuts. You talk about, I mean, just, just look at, just look at how that, that feeling did that character. That, that show is going to be so full of F bombs and craziness. It's going to. Yeah. Yeah. It's going to be mostly humor. And say, I said, you'd love to get on the podcast, talk with us. Well, I'll tell you, he's an aspiring director. What we can do is I can tell you what you need to do is go to, I just hold on. Where's the dude? Go to BamaGeeks.com. And I want to say Brock has a thing on there for you go through there and you can apply or not really apply. It's submit your request to how to be part of which. which we'd love to have you on, man. You know, just kind of go on there and give you – I think it's like a couple of questionnaires, one or two things. It's just a thing for a formal way so we can give everybody an equal opportunity to be part of the podcast. And if you want to, you can just hit the little microphone at the corner and then just talk. Yeah, you can also leave a voicemail. That's fine. No judgment there. We only put most people through the gauntlet. Like I said, we want to make sure everybody has a fair good chance to be part of it. We'd love to have you on. We're always open for some guests. Yeah, and all seriousness, for sure, yeah. Shoot us a message. We'll vet you and make sure everything's good there. All right, so I know we're getting here at the end. So what's your plans for Halloween next week? I don't know. I was thinking about doing a different costume this year, but I'm probably just going to fall back on doing a Ghostbuster again since half of my yard is Ghostbusters. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with that. Yeah, I don't normally do any haunted houses or anything like that because it's just not my thing. I mean, I tend to, when it comes to my Halloween display, you guys probably saw, there's not much about that that's scary because I don't like doing scary displays. Yeah, spooky. Yeah, they're spooky where it's like kids can come up and your parents still feel comfortable and then there's no jump scares. There's nothing like that because I want kids to come and feel safe but still be awed by the display. That's what I like to do. So I may have mentioned this on the podcast before, but I organize the whole neighborhood and I create a treat map in Google Maps that I share out. I've got it tied to a specific domain. Which I'm not going to share here because it will literally tell you where I live. Yeah, he don't want to dox himself. Yeah, I don't want to dox myself, right? But... uh basically i i coordinate this with uh neighborhood my entire neighborhood now we've got about forty or fifty houses in our neighborhood now that will be doing sugar treating i go and i pass out flyers and have qr codes to send you straight to the map so if you come into our neighborhood all you gotta do is scan it with your phone it pops up go straight to the map and lets you know exactly where to go to get treats and get tricks and things like that so So that's what I'll be doing for sure the week of is getting those flyers and getting those things out and just getting ready for it, man. I mean, it's on a Friday night this year, guys, so I'm going to be getting so pumped. It's going to be awesome. And game. Yeah. Yeah. You shouldn't have to fill out too much personal information on that. I believe, like I said, just check the questionnaire for, I need to look at it myself. I haven't looked at it. I know Brock's did a lot of the heavy lifting on setting up the website. So like I said, yeah, just fill out one information. I think it's mostly your email and one or two other things. Fill out what you're comfortable submitting. It isn't a whole, it's not a whole job resume. You're good. Yeah, and Game Freakness, if you're on Facebook, which I'm not going to fault you if you're not, that's fine. If you're on Facebook, just go find Bama Geeks and then just shoot the page a message. I think that's sufficiently private enough. Just give us your information and we'll talk to you. Just let us know. We don't got to make it complicated. Yeah. And then Jess says they're going to stay in watching movies after SmackDown, of course, Friday night, spooky SmackDown. And then I understand y'all guys have been gone like every weekend or even during the week. You guys have been going. Yep. Y'all have got y'all's miles in. And we know that Brock and Jess have the neighborhood that you definitely want to give out candy. I can see why they don't want to give out candy. If you follow any of them personally on Facebook, they've had some fun times here lately with some things going on in their neighborhood. So I do not blame you guys for just wanting to come and just get that job. Yeah, for me, we'll be going out with a kiddo. He's wanting to be Jason this year, even though he's not watched a Jason movie. There's a Jason character in one of the games he plays, so we're doing Jason. That's what we're doing. We'll carry him trick-or-treating to a few houses, and then, yeah, that's what I'm trying to think. What is it, Fortnite? No, no, it's a Roblox game. Okay, okay. There's a lot of what I would say the Dead by Daylight clones on Fortnite. So it's kind of like that. Nice, nice. Yeah, Game Freakness. We definitely look forward to talking about that for sure. Yeah, we've seen it. Yeah. And like I said, we'll try to remember. I don't know if we've done a review of it or not. I can't remember. It's been a since it's come out. I don't know if we've talked it or not. that's the crazy thing with our, our schedule. Like we'll, we'll chat between, between episodes, but then like the things we discussed, like I'll, I'll listen to the, the podcast, you know, hearing the replay of some, but then like, it's, it's, I've got such dad brain where it's like, I do good rumor stuff. I did it. I did it. I did it. I did it. I did it. I did it. I did it. I did it. yeah well and sometimes when we do podcasts um you guys know what will something will come up and we want to talk about it and we'll dominate the whole podcast talking about that thing and we'll just like miss um movies but yeah i think we've all seen happy gilmore too at this point and i enjoyed it it was fun it was a it was predictable that's probably my most negative comment it's yeah it's it's a lot of checkbox nostalgia sequel fun stuff you know The one thing that I can say about it that I that I thought was funny was if you follow the industry, it's pretty clear that when when Adam Sandler and his company would do like a movie with Netflix, that they would intentionally do it in a foreign location that they wanted to visit with the family. Yeah. And it was very obvious they would do that because the way they did it, it Sometimes the scenes wouldn't make sense being there, but they were there. Right. So they would just make it work. I mean, you know, the guy's brilliant. They didn't really do that with this movie. So I was kind of like, is he just kind of done with doing that with Netflix? He was being a little more authentic with it. So I was kind of, I was kind of actually kind of surprised. I was, I was, I was expecting to see him be in some other foreign location, but they actually just stuck to the same thing, the same locations. And I was, I was, I was kind of shocked. But yeah, it was a really good movie. I really enjoyed it. We can definitely talk. And I would love to see, like, you know, Game Freakness here. He said he rewrote how it should have gone instead. We'd love to hear about that, man. Yeah. But just save that for if we get you on the show, we'd love to go over that kind of stuff. I'm sure you'd have a lot of those what-ifs kind of scenarios that we could go over. By the way, speaking of that, Bo, have you had a chance to watch Marvel Zombies yet? No, I need to. I haven't. I just have not watched it. Yeah, I haven't had a chance. It looks like it's really good, though. Oh, yeah. Well, I mean, I read the original run of the comics, and I liked them a lot, but I know they changed a couple of things, which makes sense. But, I mean, I always liked that. I liked the whole concept. As much as I like Marvel, I need to watch the Marvel zombies. Yeah. Actually, honestly, I forgot about it. There's so much to consume now, it's hard to remember it all. I mean, yeah, from, from, from media all the way to, to movies, to TV, to everything, man. It's just like, we get hit with everything. It's just so much stuff. Everybody's making so much stuff. It's hard to keep up, you know? Yeah. It's, it's, you know, it's the whole, like when you're, like I said, you have the, when you have the, like, especially like with us, like with video games, you know, when you're younger and you had time to play games, but you couldn't buy all the games. Now you have the money, you have adult money to buy the games, but you don't have time to play them. yeah yeah and granted yeah we're gonna age ourselves here a little bit you know because we always do um old old old old bad things here you know um but you know when it comes to video games you know i used to be able to sit down and play video games and now i'll play it for a little bit i'll be like yeah i could be doing something else i'm just gonna do something else i'll get up and and leave um i was i'm speaking of tangent here and speak a little bit about video games I'd love to hear anybody in the chat that's heard of this new game that's out. Um, there was a game that came out a couple of years ago, several years ago called vampire survivors. And I kind of turned bow onto that one, um, uh, playing it. It's like an overhead, uh, two dimensional, uh, um, final fantasy ish kind of, uh, set up where you, you literally, you're a character that goes super, super power, but you have to survive thirty minutes in a, waves of millions of things trying to kill you. They've not redone that, but someone's made a spiritual successor to that in three-dimensional. It's called Megabonk. The name alone I love. It's crazy, and it's just as zany as... Well, I don't know if I'd say it's just as zany as Vampire Survivors. Vampire Survivors has a little bit more, but it's easy to forget that Vampire Survivors started out being really simple, and then they started adding to it and adding more story as the game progressed. They're doing the same thing with Megamonk, and the guy that did it has always been very public about how he made this and how it's very easy to do and how... He's essentially taken a project and turned it into a multi-million dollar venture for himself. I mean, we've had top-end streamers playing this game because it's so addictive. It has the same gambling-style interface where when you get power-ups, it does the gambling sounds and the lights and everything that you get in Vampire Survivors. So it still has that same addictive element to it that Vampire Survivors has. But it's a very fun game. It's got all the... neat little characters and uh that you can play as with all their you know their different pluses and minuses and guns and snipers sniper rifle and and and things that you you could you could play as uh we got a like homing missiles and then they they've got like really um not so stream friendly names to certain things that you know i'm sure yeah that you can do in the game but it's very fun it's very simple game to play uh very very old school looking graphics but it's the same thing you could get like hordes of thousands of enemies coming at you at once on the screen and um in three dimensions instead of it being overhead so it's pretty cool i recommend it if any if uh we've got any folks that are looking for a new game to play that's just simple and and uh but also has a challenge to it um yeah megabonk try it stupid name good game Like I said, you got any more topics?
