So we're less than two weeks away from what is the number five? Wait a minute, Brock. Did you say the twenty fourth and the twenty fifth? I think I did. I believe what? What is that? Yeah, we're so used to a one-day Gadsden Collector Con. What's going on there, guys? Uh-oh. More fun to be had, right? Yeah, so this will be your first-ever two-day Collector's Con, right? Yes, first-ever two-day. We're doing it. It's a Friday night and then a Saturday. Mm-hmm. Fantastic. And I know the way you worded it before, when we were talking, when you guys were talking about like potentially doing that, it was going to be more than anything to give us a good, good jump on being able to get everything set up. So the Saturday would be more successful. Yeah. We've we've heard from a bunch of different people over the past few shows. Just, I mean, set up time is like right on point. So just to have a little extra time, people walk around and talk and, Do all that before show starts. It's going to be fun. Nice. Yeah, very nice. And we see people jumping in the chat already. Of course. Our buddy Adam. Bam Afridi. That's right. How you doing, man? Darnay. Howdy, howdy, howdy. Howdy, howdy. And again, howdy, howdy, howdy. Howdy, howdy, howdy. Howdy, howdy, howdy. I'm Woody. Howdy, howdy, howdy. So we are, of course, are live on YouTube. We also are now streaming to Facebook tonight for everybody who may catch us there. It's popping up in the chat a lot. Well, that's me because I'm sending it to everything. So, yeah. Bo's the welcoming committee. Yeah, if you're seeing it all in the chat. But we're also, of course, on Axe and on Twitch. Our next scheduled show, we'll go ahead and tell you up front, is supposed to be July twenty sixth. We're going to take that off. Bo is going to he and his family are going to be on vacation. It's actually my birthday that day. So wow. We'll be just coming off of the con. Yeah, the con the day before. We will be back in August after this stream. We're going to take the next one off. If we can find an old bonus episode or something to throw up there to keep you slightly entertained, then we will. Adam, is your birthday the twenty-sixth as well? That's awesome if it is. I had a couple of friends in high school who we all shared the same birthday. Nice. Yeah. Hopefully Adam sells a lot on his birthday. Yeah. Awesome. Very nice. Nice. There's your birthday, buddy. That's right. Happy birthday early, man. Unfortunately, we will get into that a little bit, I guess. Well, now that you've opened it up. Yes. Kevin will be representing the Bama Geeks at Gadsden Collector Con this year. I tried like everything to make it happen for Jess and myself. And work, I was on the cusp of being able to do it. And then two of my employees, one's going to a wedding out west. And then one son is getting engaged that weekend. And so they were like, we need this off. And I went, okay. Okay. So that's, there's a lot of things going on with work that I've got to cover. And so I'm unfortunately not going to be able to make it up to partake in the selling this year. So you guys got to deal with just little old me. Just little old Kevin. Little old me. Kevin's coming representing us. But I will have my wife, my lovely wife, with me to make it better. You got to have help. It's hard doing it by yourself. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. We had such a great time selling at the con back in – Adam says nerd show should rank above social obligations. Don't get me wrong. That's understandable. It's the repercussions we worry about when we do that ranking. Yeah. yeah yeah we we might just and i might be able to make it up uh on on saturday to to visit and to uh and to poke around but yeah friday i'm i'm covered up with everything on friday covering everything by myself so unfortunately i can't break away my my employees messed me over it's okay though So guys, uh, tell us about this year's, uh, well, I mean, we've had one this year, but tell us about, uh, what's coming up in a couple of weeks. Go ahead there. Well, our first ever two day show. We're so excited. Um, sounds like it. Tell us how excited you are. You know, unfortunately we've had these two cancellations, uh, We know some people are upset about it, but really, you know, we're a good vendor show. A lot of people come just to buy collectibles. Right. To see the collectibles trade, you know, buy, sell, trade. So, yeah, we have no idea what to expect Friday. It's more of just a fun vendor setup day and then VIP that night. So I'm just excited to see how it's going to go. Yeah. Are you still having the VIP option on the hour before the show on Saturday as well? Yeah, we'll still, like we've done before, the ten dollars and the five dollars. How about, or don't, whatever. Yeah. Oh, that's funny. I'm going to be there, so there's that. We definitely have the most vendors we've ever had. I had to go up to the venue and ask if they had enough tables, which fortunately they do. Wow. And our friend Skyler. Yeah, he said the vending at the show earlier this year was awesome. Yeah, that's kind of my whole thing is vending. Like I've told you all before, that's my full-time job. So I make sure the vendors are taken care of. And I keep thinking I'm missing somebody every time, but nobody's messaged me. So I think I'm about done with the layout. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I want to say we're close to a hundred vendors, which usually we're in the eights. Oh, wow. And about a hundred and like a hundred and fifty spots total. So that's that's a lot to look through. Yeah. I mean, we get unfortunately get to celebrity cancellations. You can just take some of us up on the stage. There you go. There you go. That could just be extra space. You know, somebody needs another spot. Hey, that's very true. We've. I've used every inch of that place now. I think we've maxed out what we can do. I can shuffle people and do different kind of size booths, but right now it's good where I like it. That is such a good venue you guys have. It's got good parking. It's easy to get to. It's easy to see. Terrible air. You've got all kinds of amenities around it. It's awesome. Yeah. Yeah. No, it's really nice. I mean, it's just an old Kmart. They just upscaled. So, yeah. Um, I just wish it was all one room. Like it was a huge room, but yeah, overall it's a nice venue and they're really good to us and yeah. Yeah, it's been kind of an adventure, though. I mean, yeah. So some of the other rooms can be a bit tight, but like you kind of get to peruse around and you go to the big room and you're like, oh, man, there's more stuff off to the side. Oh, man, there's more stuff off to the side. It's going to keep going. And it just I don't know, maybe to me, it just kind of makes it feel like it's bigger than it, you know, than it is, because you've just spent so much time just kind of discovering all the little areas that you can go to as well. Yeah. And I spent a lot of time trying to mix up the vendors. Like I don't want four toy guys next to each other. And that's why I put on the application, you know, tell me if you're bringing somebody, tell me what they're selling. Right. Just like to have a good mix. Yeah. That's one of the things we take a lot of pride in is the good variety. You know, if you're a toy person, there's going to be plenty for you. If you're the comic person, there's plenty for you. So we, again, just take pride in the variety and making sure we have enough for everybody. You have people that do their own arts and crafts type stuff, people that make things. And of course the cards are, the cards are a big thing as well. So yeah. And it's definitely got something for everybody. Yeah. I collect retro video games and there was a lot of great vendors y'all guys had for that. I was very happy. I went home with a few purchases. I was very glad to have. So we have more of this time. Maybe I get the vacation, put back a day or two. got another comment adam or we can redefine what constitutes as a celebrity come out and meet blank from the community come out and meet adam yeah come out exactly and he says as speaking of people who make things that's right dude that your muppets dioramas oh my gosh top notch and the sesame street stuff that you're doing Wow. It is amazing. Because of your Sesame Street stuff, I'm going to have a tough time keeping my wife at the booth. Because I'm like, I can't run this by myself. You got to stop wandering off. And if you look just below Jessica's microphone, where the Ghostbusters are standing. Oh, yeah. Yeah. That's one of Adam's dioramas right down there. Yeah. Yeah. Fits perfectly in the detox. Perfectly. Perfect fitting for the detox. Yeah. Yeah. Amazing work. Yeah. So, um, so what, what kind of, uh, well, you've had two celebrity cancellations, just jumping back to that, uh, really quickly. Uh, so who is coming? So we only have Ron Simmons come in and he's going to only be there on Saturday. So no celebrity on a Friday night. Now I am. trying to work on bringing in one or two Alabama football players. But we're obviously working on very short notice now. So it may or may not happen. We'll see. If I don't get an answer Monday or Tuesday, then we definitely won't. But I am working on some Alabama. So we'll see. Okay. All right. Well, we got Brother John. He loves the show. Oh, yeah. Of course. We got Alex Ogle. He was at our – Two shows ago, right? Yeah, third show. Yeah. He's got a G.I. Joe variant cover that just came out. Oh, nice. Nice. He's in Birmingham. He's a published comic artist. He'll be there Saturday. Okay. Very nice. Then we'll have JSA there. People need to get stuff authenticated. Yeah. All right. know hmm we may have a comic book artist that we could try to get a hold of oh yeah yeah yeah i like it Yeah. Remember, we're live. Yeah, we're live. We'll tell you guys, once the stream ends, we'll talk to you about him. We haven't seen him in a few years. We'd love to have him down. We've got to find another place for grits, though. He's from Canada. Last time he was down here, we had him try some grits. And he was like, what is this wet sand? No, he didn't. he's canadian we understand yeah he's he's from vancouver but he did it but he did enjoy the connective sausage so he did well of course yeah i've never met anybody who did enjoy connective sausage yeah yeah we will i do want to say this though uh tom that plays smalls in the sandlot yeah uh even though he he had to cancel this due to um a show that's coming out soon, and he has to be at San Diego Comic-Con. But we will have him either October for the Halloween Fest, or we'll have him in January at the next Gadsden CleverCon. But we will for sure get him. So anybody that was planning on meeting him and coming out He's coming soon. Nice. Is there an anniversary for the Sandlot this year? Is that I'm missing? I guess I'd be. Have y'all heard of, I think it's called dugout dads. The guy played him in the Sandlot and then from boy meets world, their husband and wife. And it's, it's about like, I guess the parents of the ball field. Oh, okay. But it's, it's apparently some, I don't know. It's going to be cool. Uh, but all the Sandlot cast is going to be a part of that. Oh, I don't know if all of them, I don't know about Benny, but I know the rest are going to be a part of it. So it'll be cool. And again, that'll be something for us to talk about after, after this con, you know? So, yeah. So hang on now, you said October, uh, What's brewing then? Yeah. Oh, Derek. Oh, Derek. Sorry, Derek. Derek's ready. Okay. So October the twenty-fourth, Wulfton's Halloween Fest. And what it is, it's collectibles just like the con mixed with Halloween. And so we're super excited. Yeah. So all I would like to say about that is make sure you start following Wolf Den's Halloween Fest on social media, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok. And then starting next week, we're going to start accepting vendors and get that ball rolling. We've already we've booked a comic artist already. I've been working on celebrities, but we think it'll be a fun event. So looking forward to it. Yeah. Very nice. And is that going to be back at the venue? Yes. It'll be at the venue. We're only going to do the main hall. We're not going to do the side room. Um, but it'll be one, right. So, you know, you gotta get, you know, we're still working out all the details, but you know, we, we're going to have a trick or treating time. We're going to have either a costume contest or a costume parade. We're, we're working out those details, but, uh, You know, fun stuff. But again, like I said, if you are a collector, there's still going to be Pokemon. There's still going to be video games. There's still going to be toys. It's just a combination with Halloween. Yeah. Because the way I feel is not everybody in Alabama will want to dress up at a comic con, but mostly everybody feels comfortable to do it during Halloween. And it's a little more, you know, so we and we know people love that holiday. And for thirty one days, everybody's on board with Halloween. So we're looking forward to it. And we think it'll be fun. Or if you're Bo and Kevin, three hundred and sixty five days. Exactly. And we are, too. We are, too. I was in the storage building the other day looking at my old all my haunted mansion tombstones that I've been picking up from Lowe's over the years. I can't wait to break those out. That's a that's one of our year. That's one of our yearly collections is what's coming out with a haunted mansion tombstones this year. Yeah. And the two that Lowe's has put on sale is already sold out. I'm like, come on. Of course. Now I'm going to fight for them. yeah yes some of that stuff is just lows and home depot it's it goes so quick yeah yeah we we had to i had to fight and scrape to get us finally one of those twelve foot skeletons which he is up year round we just we decorate them for the holiday or whatever but yeah we that was a fun like i almost had one the year before i got one and then fortunately i wasn't it got purchased before i got there so i finally had to do the wait online refresh refresh refresh so yes so yeah the uh Yeah, the Halloween, it's, yeah. I was in Costco today. I had to get a tire repair on my car. I was in Costco, and, yeah, they've got the groundbreaking skeletons. I see that bad boy. He's an eyeball to me. A couple times we go, and I'm just like, I don't know where we're going to put him. Oh, man. I know that that event's going to be awesome though, Wolf. I really, I'm hoping that we're not going to be, we're personally here and not going to be able to do as much since it's a new house with Halloween this year. So maybe I can bring some of that enthusiasm to your event. Kevin? Yeah, because we're going to be needing decorations and so those guys kevin you might be able to make up for it kevin's kevin's old house in the past has been the mecca for for for halloween trick-or-treating and stuff it's he's always done such an awesome i'll get this one that way too Kevin, so you might need to go ahead and get those full-size candy bars. Yeah. Kevin hands out the full-size candy bars for Halloween. Oh, yeah. I know I had quite a few kids growing up with my pen on their map. Make sure you go here first. Okay. Kevin is the king of trick or beat us. Well, hopefully there'll be a lot to hand out at that event. Very cool. I'm pretty much the build now where I could get in that guy right there, so I might actually show up with him. So we'll see. That'd be cool. All right. So for coming up in a couple of weeks, what are some things that you guys have been putting together that you like, maybe some vendor wise, what are you looking forward to yourselves that will be there? Uh, I'm happy. We'll be able to walk around a little bit. I never really get to, I mean, I stopped and talked to you guys for like ten minutes and you sold me a bunch of dang Funkos that I still have at my booth. Derek, I found more. If you want them, they're yours, man. But, uh, I started collecting Batman Legos and, uh, I know we got a few dealers that have Legos, so. I'll be looking for those in video games, comics. As you can see behind me, I collect a little bit of everything. But yeah, I'm excited to walk around more than anything. So good. Yeah. And I, I agree with Derek. It's every, every time I'm like, Oh, I just want to walk around and see it. And it never last time me and Derek, I like, I made him, I said, let's go walk around. And every stop we stopped that he kept talking for ten minutes. I'm like, dude, come on, hurry. We got to go. We got to go. And then finally I just went back to my booth and I was like, we didn't even make it down the whole aisle. So we're hoping this time we get to walk around and, enjoy it and see see some stuff because we know that some people are buying so we've had people that bought stuff at our last con and they either came back to the store and re-sewed it to me or reached out to me and i was like well heck i wish i saw it and right you know so but wow maybe this time we'll get this before re-gifting to on a new level Yeah, you'd think putting it on, we'd be able to get all the VIP treatment and get in there early and see everything. But no, we're helping vendors and setting our own booth up. So we're lasting. I mean, to be fair, you guys have massive booths. So, I mean, it's a lot to set up. Yeah, you do. That's one perk, yeah. We're going to put it on. We're going to have massive booths, okay? Yeah, I mean... I get it, too, because, you know, it's like this was our, you know, back in January, it was our first time to be a vendor for a con and to have that vendor experience. And, you know, we always made the jokes like we're on this side of the table this time. And I guess like we were sitting there and things were moving. And I mean, and it just the time just passes so quick. And it's like, I want to go try to see something. And I mean, I just had to make a quick round, really, and get back to the table because I Like I said, you don't realize the time passes so fast when all that's going on. It's like I hadn't had a chance to go see anything, but I did go out and get coffee and I did go out and get lunch for us all. And by the way, you guys had some of the best food trucks there last time we were there. Good. And I hope those guys are back because those food trucks are really good. They'll all be back, plus we got a shaved ice vendor this time. Good call for summer. Oh, yeah. Definitely good call for July. Oh, my gosh. Wow. I need me some Tiger's blood now. So I'm seeing I'm most excited about the badges instead of wristbands. Feels more official. Oh, we got badges this year? Yeah, I lost my cool the other night. When we started having the celebrities drop out, we got all three celebrities on the badge now. We printed them about a month ago. So you just got to go through with a Sharpie. All of them. It's okay. Just start X-ing them out as you're handling me. Sorry. Couldn't show. We have vendor badges, VIP badges, and staff badges. That's pretty cool. Pretty official this time. Nice. Yeah. Yeah. We were talking about the cancellation, you know, it's we, we, you know, things happen. And as much as you, if you, if you are go to cons and you frequent cons regularly, I mean, that's just something that happens. And I get it a lot of people, but you know, I've had, I've been kind of disappointed in, in gas cancellations at cons, but it is what it is. There's nothing there's can't really have a control over it. And, and, So yeah, I've told Derek for, I guess for, for this whole time, I was like, it's coming. It's just a matter of time. And then unfortunately we, you know, we were first one. We were like, okay, there it is. And then we were like, Oh, not, not good. But one half of the APA agency will still be in attendance. The WCW, former WCW heavyweight champion. That's right. Ruke Simmons. Yeah. Yeah, and he'll do well. I mean, he'll be the only one for people to meet, so I guess he's going to do well. Yeah. We hope so. Yeah. I think so. He's such a treat to talk to. Yeah. Bo had a good time. Bo's met him before. I met him once or twice, yeah. I always told him a good story because I had a gentleman I worked with. Of course, the APA, one gentleman's black, one gentleman's white. They were just that thing. And I had a coworker at one of my first jobs. We'd always be in the break room talking together, and they said we were in our APA office. So that was just one of the funny stories he enjoyed. But, I mean, you've got him because, I mean, he was a star football player at Florida State. Yeah. I mean, of course, like I said – long standing wrestling career I mean definitely yeah I just got my figure in today I got a vintage I think it's from ninety eight Farouk figure get him to sign yeah oh that's good yeah that's good is that still in his nation gear or is that right when he transitioned to AP I don't know I think it's right over there Kylie's over here in the floor we don't have two chairs in the office Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. Towards the end of the nation's run. Nice. Nice. Okay. That's in great shape for that to be... Yeah. That looks good. How old is that? He said, he said, so he was thirty years old and the plastic's not yellowed at all. It was amazing. From the nineteen hundreds. Yeah. It was like twenty bucks. I think something like that. It was great. That's a good choice. Good choice for him to sign. That's a good choice. Yeah. You'll probably get some. He'll probably talk to you a bit about that, too. Yeah. Ball in the wrestling cards. I didn't get none of those. Nice. Yeah. Is he going to come to, uh, to the store to, uh, to do an appearance as well? No, he's just, just the one day, just Saturday. Okay. Cause didn't, didn't, uh, I forget his name. Yes. Yes. We, so, you know, with a lot of celebrities, it's, um, it can be a two or three day con. And since Iris was only one day. Uh, that's kind of one of the things I do if, if it doesn't make a difference in the price, I try to get them to come to the store just to, so we have longer time for them to reach their guarantee and, you know, just more exposure. So, uh, but with most of the wrestlers, they're, they're usually like on a one day type deal. Some of them, some of them will do the weekend, but most of them has been a one day. Yeah. Okay. All right. Um, well, I know you guys have a lot of people from all over the, the, the con is every, every time we've been has been packed. Um, how far do some of your vendors, how far does some attendees travel to come to Gadsden collector con? Um, I know we got a few from Georgia this time. Uh, I believe one from Florida. Some in Mississippi, Tennessee, stuff like that. But y'all met Arkansas Pigger last time, you know, from Arkansas. They've got other gaming conventions to do this month. So I think they'll come back in January. Okay. But yeah, there's attendees. I've been getting text messages and calls from Georgia and Mississippi, stuff like that. Yeah. Yeah, I just love talking to people from all over. Yeah. It's a cool feeling. And a two-day event makes it more reasonable for them to travel and spend more time. So we're hoping that will help with them, too. Yeah. And like I said, given that chance to set up on a Friday, have a Friday night and then already have everything's, everything's ready and in place when you fire it off on Saturdays. That's good. Yeah. Cause we were, yeah, we, we, that whole experience for us, you know, it's packing up, getting there, setting up. It's like when we got up there and we were looking at the layout and then it's trying to figure out the layout. So it's, Because we're just like, oh, yeah, no problem. We'll get up there and get set up fast. And then you get up there and you look at your table and like, okay, wait a minute. How are we going to set this up? And I guess we did something right because we had a lot of people telling us we set things up very well. So I guess it's just from our experiences being customers at cons, maybe something kicked in with us in setting up our booth in such a way. Yeah. That's good. Professional. Yeah. You guys put a lot of trust in just like the decency of vendors, you know, which could go well and might not go well, you know, but just the fact that, you know, when everyone set up, like when we were there, when everyone set up, it was like, everyone was just kind of conservative with their areas. No one was trying to like take like way too much space and they kind of stayed in their own lane. You can tell, you can definitely tell that we were dealing with people who had done that quite a bit. Yeah. Yeah. Cause they didn't want to be that and had to move stuff, you know? Yeah. That gave me anxiety that last show. Cause we were not able to get in there early. Yeah. And we had to rely on the vendors basically. And it, it worked out so well. I didn't have any complaints. No, it was amazing. Yeah. And the vendors know that if they don't act right, they get on Derek's bad side. It's not good. I stay on his bad side. I agree. I always like seeing how others set up their spaces. I borrow ideas. That's the way to go. You get that idea of how somebody else sets theirs up. That's the teacher mentality in Adam. You teach her still. True. Yeah, I had to do that. Y'all seen me at Huntsville. I got two spaces next year. I was only able to get one this year. It was so tight. I've seen what other people do with ten-by-tens. They make a little U and do stuff like that. I don't like that, so that's why I got two spaces. Yeah. Yeah. Speaking of Huntsville, we were standing there and got to see like a little girl came up to you with a handful of Pokemon cards and and we got to see you interact a lot with with a few folks and trying to make deals. You know, what is that as somebody who doesn't, you know, haggle or or do these things very often? How does that for you? How do you know what to look for? Just been doing it for a couple of years now. Uh, it's, I know what, I guess I kind of know what people are looking for and I kind of keep up with trends, especially in Pokemon and comics, video games. That's kind of my main three. Uh, yeah. And Wolf can tell you like at the shop, we just try to be honest. Like if they bring in something, they don't have a clue. I just like, Hey, it's worth this and we can offer this. And usually people can appreciate that. And yeah. That's how come we buy so much. We buy a lot. I always tell people, and they probably think I'm just blowing smoke at them, but I'm always like, hey, bring your Pokemon to Derek. He will be completely honest with you. He's fair. He's not going to lie to you about anything. He's not trying to steal a deal on you. He's good at that. And he loves kids. Don't get too excited now. Thank you. Derek, you've been nominated to babysit. I'm trying to butter you up. I already have my dream job. I don't need that. Whoa, say that again. Great job. Vending, not working out. Okay, okay. But Derek, you did a really good job with that little girl up in Huntsville and the Pokemon cards. Yeah. You let her down really easily when she didn't have anything that was, you know, with the sale. Yeah, I feel like I have to be the bearer of bad news so much. It's... I guess I found a way to tell them if they have something fake. If it's nothing I can use, I'll just tell them it's really pretty cards. It's just nothing I could use. I don't hate kids. I can let them down easy. He's good with kids. He just... he ain't going to take them to the park and watch them for an hour. He's good with them in passing. Unless they got some good Pokemon cards. You better come. Yeah. We had one come in with some cards that he traded at school. And I was like, these are expensive, man. I gave him like three hundred dollars and he just lost his mind. Yeah. Really? Wow. Wow. You know, honestly, I could have gave him fifty, you know, five. didn't have any morals and he'd have been happy, but yeah, he was like, Whoa, man, he couldn't believe it. He was so excited. I bet. Yeah. It's a lot of money for a kid. Made me feel like he was rich. Yeah. Yeah. Three hundred bucks made me feel like I'm rich. I know. Yeah. I wouldn't. Yeah. I wouldn't turn it down either. At least a couple tanks of gas now. Right. At least. Yeah. Thankfully, gas is going down so everybody can make the drive. There you go. And Kevin's good. He's got a Tesla. So, you know, hey, he's Kevin's like, what's gas? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's like my, my, my fuel cost hasn't changed. It didn't change the whole time. That thing was happening. So another, another thing I was thinking about was like the two day show. We got a lot of local vendors is that if they sell a lot Friday, they can go home and restock and then bring more Saturday. Right. And then same thing with the attendees, you know, if they were like, Oh, I should have brought this. They can come back tomorrow and, bring it into trade or sell. So that's why I really enjoy two day shows like that. So really good opportunities in both on both sides of the, yeah. You want to come in Friday to see, you know, be the first to see everything and get the deals that night and, but Saturday morning restock. So come back. Yeah. Yeah. How often do you see people like attendees just bringing stuff in as they're, as they're coming to make those types of deals? Oh, that's all the time. I know I was at Chattanooga recently and they seen I had, I was at a card show and they seen I had video games and nobody else did. So the next day I got brought like ten different people bring me video games. I probably spent a couple grand on video games and it was amazing. Like they all came to me because they seen. So that's kind of a perk if you do something different. Yeah. But yeah, a lot of people bring stuff into trade and sell for sure. How, how often do you guys do that at your store? Like people bringing stuff in? Yeah. It's daily. I mean, multiple times. Yeah. Yeah. Some, some days, um, I don't know. It's it's such a blessing to get stuff. But sometimes I'm like, goodness gracious, like I need somebody to buy something, you know, like, yeah, or we're just sitting at the counter and there's three people coming up to sell you something. And you're just like, oh, my goodness. And I get overwhelmed sometimes. I like for everybody just go there now. So. Yeah, he does that. But we both have a, you know, if it's a good deal, it's hard to turn down. So yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We buy too much like both of us. So I'm sure they help with inventory though is, you know, keep you guys running in the long run. Yeah. Yeah, it does for sure. Yeah. I got, like I said, I got a storage house and he's got back room. He's got his house. So yeah. Yeah, a lot of stuff. Well, you know, Jess and I are going to be moving hopefully next year. We're looking to offload a lot of things. No more Funkos. No more. I don't buy product from attendees. come on you don't want to like i when i was a kid i had my background for my ninja turtle sewer was just a flipped over cardboard orange box with the drawings on it i can't tell you that it's vintage i mean that was my sewer play set i think you're probably a little bit more artistic than yeah you're able to turn out there but you know an eight-year-old with a sharpie i mean come on now We try to discourage. Obviously, you'll have people bring in a big wagon full of stuff. They'll try to go sit up in a corner or something. We're not for that because the vendors pay for a spot to sell and you can't just sneak in. We're very against that. If I catch them, I boot them out real quick. Yeah. Yeah, I remember when I first moved up, I got out of the Air Force back in ninety eight and moved up to Kennesaw, Georgia, and I went to a toy show my very first weekend there. the only thing i knew i wanted to get i wanted to see if i could sell was a the very first doll of sally from a nightmare before christmas i found it in walmart for fifteen bucks uh while when the movie first came out and i was just walking around the the floor there and um i remember one vendor came up or i visited one vendor and he said i'll give you fifty bucks for it and i said no i'm gonna kind of hold off on it and Um, I appreciate it. Cause I, I had been reading some of the Mac, the, like the toy magazines and knew that there was a decent price for, for that particular doll. And I started walking out and he, I guess he saw me about to walk out the door a little bit later on. And he came flying up to me with, with three hundred dollars in his hand. And he's like, right now, I know I said, dude, have fun with it. So, yeah, it's yours. That's a big jump. That was a good investment. It didn't last long because I was trying to buy stuff for my new apartment up there. So it paid for some dishes, which was nice. Yeah. But it's, yeah, you'll see, I'm sure y'all seen a bunch of kids with binders and then you've seen people in backpacks and We love that. I mean, it's just a fun day of trading and looking for grails, stuff like that. Seeing kids walking up with binders and stuff is some of my favorite content to watch online. Just seeing the kids come up and you're like, oh yeah, this kid just kind of came up here with a binder that's worth like half a million dollars. What are you doing, man? Why don't you not have that at home locked up? Now they just want to come and show it off and it's like... I would be afraid I wouldn't get out of there. Yeah. Yeah. We got, we got asked, I know back in January, if we, if we had any Pokemon cards and no, I'm sorry, we don't. I wish we did, but we don't. It became just a running joke when we were at our, at our, our vendor table, because I just talked to everybody. I'm like, you guys, I just want to talk to everybody. And I'm like sitting there going, they'd start looking at myself. I'm like, guys, I'll make you a deal. Just, just, just, just start talking to folks. And, you know, you know, most people, they would talk back to you, but then you get the more awkward types. I started to try to, from a vendor perspective, try to figure out that this is the kind of person that doesn't seem to necessarily want you to talk to them. They just want to kind of look and then they'll approach you. And then, you know, most folks were, were like, Oh, this guy's actually talking to me. They're doing deals. And I actually found that that actually does a better job. job getting engagement with people yeah um then just like sitting there and being like yeah you got to be a salesman you can't just sit there on your phone yeah exactly yeah people they're like i have so many tables i can look at i will just keep keep walking i don't mind that that but that bugs me and then when they don't have anything priced at all yeah right like i understand some stuff not being priced like you didn't have time or something but Especially with cards, I guess some toys and stuff, you don't want to put a sticker on it really. Yeah. Yeah. I feel like it's mostly lazy if they don't price some stuff. Right. Yeah. I mean, at least give them something to look at. And if they're like, it's something that's behind your booth or something like that, that they can't really see it very well. You can like bring it forward and go. yeah, I'm kind of asking this much for this and then just kind of just start talking. You know what I mean? I sold some very pricey figures the last time we were there. Yeah, you did. I went right off the bat to somebody that was walking around. So really, I made some good money. I had a loose, you guys will know this, but Star Wars, I had to lose one of the classic Amonimans with the Witch Doctor staff. And I sold it right off the bat. And I think I bought this for three hundred bucks on that thing. Just on it right off the bat. And I was like, well, you know what? i'm excited now we're gonna go yeah kevin was like man i'm good already we just got started and i am i'm i'm already doing fantastic yeah you got cool stuff and it's fairly priced i mean it's sales i i think it wound up bundling that with a couple of other ones and and uh and it took less for it but it's like it's with me and granted this is probably like sacrilege to you guys because this is your business but like with me it was in a box in my closet it's either going to stay in the box in my closet or i can sell it to somebody who's going to enjoy it no that's true yeah absolutely and that's one thing that made kevin i think really happy because the guy that actually had bought it he was the one that posted the picture of it displayed am i correct you know that that guy really appreciated something i had something that he he's showing appreciation for he's displaying it and it was just sitting in a box in my house yeah I will say my advice is write clearly on your pricing labels. I had a G.I. Joe classified vehicle and everything. I had written one fifteen on my on my sticker. And the guy either my my handwriting was so bad or his eyes were bad. But he's like forty five. That's fantastic. And I went, what? And he's like, he's like, yeah, he's a would you he's forty five is a great price for that. And I said, it would be for somebody. Yeah, sure. But he couldn't. I apologize to him. And I said, you know what? I went down from one-fifteen to fifty for the guy because I felt so bad that he couldn't read my writing. And I'm like, look, dude, enjoy it. I wanted it out of the house. I didn't care. And I'm like, hey, have at it, man. It was a win when we could decrease the amount of things that we brought. You know, that's kind of like going back to the whole Funko thing. We set all those up on the back. I mean, I was... Brock was kind of like, I don't want to. I was like, no, we're going to take them. Five bucks. I don't care. We don't have to bring them home. And it got to the point where we were like, look, if you just scan the QR code on our banner and subscribe to our YouTube channel. we'll give you a free pop. And a couple of people took advantage of that. Yeah. One guy got a, he picked out an R two D two. Cause I think he said he collects R two D two stuff. And then he was like, I said, here, take this. He was like, are you sure? I was like, you subscribed, you get a pop. So yeah, he showed us on the phone. Yes. Subscribe. I'm like, thanks man. Yeah. He's probably unsubscribed by now, but that's fine. As it got later in, well, even when we started out, like at the beginning and I had a five dollars, I mean, that first hour I was, I was getting rid of a lot of them because we only had so many. We didn't have a big wall of them, but you know, a couple of rows over, you've got somebody selling Funkos for, you know, ten and twelve bucks and I'm just five bucks. Here you go. Take it. and and to speak back to to to Derek's honesty and generosity we had about twenty left at the end of the show and we tried to give them to Derek like here take them and he's like nah here he gave us a few bucks for it and so you know we just told him what do you want to pay for it because we don't want you to we weren't going to ask you to pay we wanted them out of the house what do It was debatable whether the wheeling and dealing was more aggressive with that or me with my shirt. Everybody that walked by the booth, Kev was like, make you a deal on the shirt. Make a deal. Make a deal. Dollar, man. Come on. I want it going. You sold a lot of shirts. Do we have any more this time? There's a good chance. Yes. We do have a lot more stuff. It just depends on what all I can fit in my car. I really don't want to have to pull the trailer. Okay. I really don't. We may bring two vehicles this year. We'll see. Bring it on. Yeah. Well, I know you guys say you didn't get to walk around a whole lot last year or back in January rather. You know, what's the one booth or is there a certain booth or is there a certain activity that you always make sure that you don't want to miss even though you're busy selling yourselves? yeah uh i like to say i'm gonna be looking for legos i'm hoping to find some batman legos uh I think one of the most popular booths there for the, for the art style was, uh, I think her name was Ashley. She does the crochet. That is my freaking weakness. She, they're amazing. We got a lot of compliments and messages after about her booth. Um, everybody loves Kip's booth. He's always got the best vintage toys. Okay. Uh, But yeah, the Katie's comics booth is definitely the best. So Adam says price to sell everything. Yeah. And Adam's booth. Honestly, he sold more at each show. It seems like, so he's catching on for sure. Yeah, absolutely. I definitely intend to get some more from Adam when I, like I said, we're clearing out our house to hopefully move next year. But once we get a new place and get it set up, yeah, Adam's displays are going to be very prominent in our place. For sure. Yeah, I think I'm going to be... Especially if we get a chance to come up there on Saturday this year. I think I'm definitely going to be looking for probably a little bit more retro games and stuff myself because I don't know if you heard us talk about we, Jess and I landed a deal on a thirty two inch Sony Trinitron television. It's about two hundred pounds, but we only paid twenty five dollars for it at the state sale. And it's great. And so I need some more retro games to be able to play on that. There's a guy who actually reached out to us. I don't know if he'll be able to bring it or not, but he wanted me to kind of tell people he's got one of those old sharp Nintendo TVs like with the NES built in. Oh, look at the movie. It has all four legs. It's beautiful. Whoa. Okay. He said he bought it at the longest yard sale like fifteen years ago. Wow. But it's super nice and I told him we might can figure out how to bring it to the show because I think it would sell. Look, you just saw how the light up on the faces of just these three right here. You never see that kind of stuff. To be local. And I know the guy, so... But, yeah, I'll try to figure that out and, like, have it somewhere and put a price on it for them. I would love to see that. Yeah. Yeah. Even if I can't afford it, I want to see it. Me and Wolf have a buddy that may be interested in it, but I told him I didn't introduce them to. Yeah. Yeah, it's just something you never see anymore. Right. That is awesome. Oh, my God. I hope that you get that figured out. I really want to see it. One thing I wanted to ask, is there going to be any changes in registration? Are you guys doing anything new with registration that you want to talk about? Not really. I mean, just... We had our application process and we probably had two to three hundred apply. A lot of Pokemon vendors, so a lot didn't get in. We still have a lot. I mean, I hear it from toy people, game people. They're like, man, y'all got a lot of Pokemon. Then I hear from Pokemon people, we don't have enough Pokemon. It's the hottest thing in the world. We got to have a good bit. It's not a card show, though. We definitely have a good variety. As far as getting in, vendors coming in that day, you sign your sheet and go to your table and I'll be reaching out to you and everybody else this week with a map and all that. Then applications will just be the same as next time. But Wolf's, the Halloween Fest, I think his will be a little different. I told him to print out a sheet so people can sign up for it, but I doubt he's done that yet. But Derek, also looking at it from the perspective of visitors, like attendees, is there anything different that they should expect? Well, instead of one day, it's two days. Yeah. And more vendors than the last show, right? Yeah, just more vendors. I guess a couple less celebrities. We just kind of stuffed everybody in this time, but it Me and Wolf should be able to get in there a little early, so we should have everything kind of set up correctly. You guys going to go ahead and crank the AC down as far as it'll go? It's a city building. They lie to us and say that's as low as it goes. That's the lowest they'll pay for. I hate it, but I tell people, I'm like, well, We just have a lot of attendees, a lot of bodies in there, so it's going to be hot. It's going to be hot, and it's going to be, unfortunately, probably a little smelly. But hopefully because we're setting up on Friday and it's nighttime, it'll cool down by that time. And then on Saturday, since we're not setting up and the door's not open the whole time, hopefully that'll help keep it cooler too. So yeah, we hope, but also it's July and it's super hot. So are you, are you going to have more of these stylish shirts like Jess and Brock are wearing? Are you going to have some more of the shirts available? We've, We've actually got those shirts and you can get them for a steal of a deal. You can do a twenty dollar VIP pass for the weekend. Right. Twenty dollars. But for just five dollars more, twenty five dollars, you get the shirt and your VIP pass. And what a sticker there is a key chain. Yeah. And a key chain. Hey, man, I'm talking about we ordered too many shirts. Yeah. No, no, no. Had you not ordered too many shirts, you wouldn't have had enough. The good thing about it, it's a Gadsden Collector Con. You don't have a certain year or something. It's the same. We've got hats this time too, though. They're in this style. It just has the Gadsden Collector Con. We have different colors, so we'll have those for sale. We've had them for sale on the website and we've sold a few, so they'll be for sale the day of the two shows. Okay. Nice. One thing I wanted to talk about when you were talking about for the attendees, listen, this time we have an organization, a plasma organization that's going to be there and they're going to be doing very good giveaways Friday night and all day through Saturday. And we're talking, they're going to have good giveaways. And it's going to be, we're going to make sure they have stuff for Pokemon, toys, comics, video games. But they're going to be so good that even if you don't, you just want to come win something to register to win, you need to come to our con and check it out. I've already told people, yeah, that Wolf's got these new Mondo Marvel figures. I've already told like ten people we're going to take one of those. Oh yeah. And we already know this. One of the guy wants the Mondo figure so bad. He told us that he, he's going to try to win it. If he doesn't, he's just going to offer the person a few hundred dollars for it. So you might just get a couple hundred dollars. So which, uh, which Marvel figure, which Mondo figures. Well, we have Omega Red and we have two of the Wolverine, but all three that I have at the store are the limited edition ones. So they're timed edition or limited edition. Yeah. So they're really cool. But we're going to sit down with the people this week. and kind of go through and see what they want to do, but it's going to be good giveaways and we'll post it this week on social media. Uh, but I'm telling you, people's gonna, they're going to want to win some stuff. So that's nice. Yeah. We're not good at that. We've like, as far as like getting sponsors, we've never done it. We've never reached out to anybody giveaways. We we've never like made announcements or done giveaways like at the show. So, We're trying to take steps forward to give it a better experience for everybody. Very nice. Those Mondo figures are premium. Those things are nice. I've got all the real Ghostbusters ones that they've released so far, and I've got a few of the Batman ones. figures and then uh some of the masters of the universe figures but the only marvel one i've got is the savage land rogue oh yeah that's a good one yeah that's i haven't taken out of the box yet because i got nowhere to display her but yeah that's a really nice one i got it right up there oh nice And then something else I want to talk about too is this. So one of the things too about having a two day con is we, we obviously want people to come to Gaston and enjoy the con, but we want them to also enjoy Gaston in general. You know, there's lots of good restaurants. We've talked about top of the river on this podcast before, but lots of good restaurants, but there's also Gaston is having a, what is it? A thousand foot restaurant. a water slide going on on saturday and sunday that i saw that really yes all that so that's going to be a really cool event uh you know and like i said it's going to be saturday and sunday you can enjoy that uh the public library they're doing a like a small con there too um So again, if, you know, you like the library, that's a good place to come to. And then again, just, you know, we have knock a little falls there and gas and there's just, there's a lot to see for a small town. And our mayor is, he's been real active on trying to bring people to gas and, and we hope we're helping with that. So. Yeah. So the gas and check it out. Yeah. Gaston is such a beautiful area. Yes. Just outstandingly gorgeous. Yeah, we we took you know that. that weekend that we drove up there to your shop, uh, that time and, uh, Brock and myself and his son, we just, we, they were also doing like the, it was around Mardi Gras. So I think they were doing the Mardi Gras stuff at that time. And, uh, we just, we, we had a, the streets were closed off. So it was a perfect time to just stroll right up and down the street there. And we went into a couple of the little shops there and, uh, got something to eat at that little cafe. That was just not too far down from your, the, the, the, uh, I know it was a little, they had a little cafe inside and they had the, uh, the store and the vendors and stuff inside there. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Yes. Yeah. That's a, that's daily one-on-one. Yeah. That's it. Yeah. It's a great sandwich spot. So good. Yeah. Just on broad street. We have daily one-on-one, but I think, I think they close, they're more lunch style, you know, but you got harping when it's not called harping clovers anymore. It's called a clover on court, I think. yeah it's fantastic like the irish irish pub food yeah irish pub and they brought in that new so they used to have a nola on second and it's more new orleans style okay and they've combined those two together which is oh they got some good food you have the public rail house you got jefferson's uh if you love eating there's plenty to eat yes it's great yeah you got rock and roll sushi down there too yeah there's a Yeah. So, yeah, we don't want you just to come to the con. We want you to stay both days and enjoy everything. Yeah, absolutely. Excuse me. So, uh, I told you guys we've been cleaning out the house. Uh, I found a whole bunch of, uh, like I used to collect comics a lot, especially during the first run of the Batman hush timeframe. Um, are there any, are there any comics from around that time that you guys are specifically looking for? Or cause I guess like for somebody, for somebody like me, I, I enjoyed reading them. I have no idea. what they're worth or how collectible they are. I do have one, I think it's kind of a black and white cover from the Batman Hush uh run but it's signed by jim lee it was one of those additions um i know he's the head of dc now i believe so um so not knowing what what these are that's something i can bring to the con and have people look at and tell me what they're worth and oh yeah yeah i'd look for issue six oh eight i think i have it on the wall it's a second print it's like batman on a on a gargoyle i have that one like two hundred bucks whoa what was that the one rare second print variant by jim lee it is yeah it's then they do one like it was mirror where one was one had superman and one had batman were you supposing okay i think i've got those covers i think i do too i need i need to do some digging and looking yeah during that run i collected everything i could get my hand on at that run and uh i can't is it six oh nine i think six oh seven is the first hush so that's like forty or fifty bucks it's like uh it's like a green cover i think it's got maybe on it yeah if you got the run you've got it but if you've got the jim lee cover uh yeah that's some money that's that's one of my top like newer books that i have i love that book okay you'll have to take a look at those i found it just the other day i was like oh there's my jim lee signed cover he did yeah so okay hi hi i don't i you know it's one of those things i don't know if i would part with it because of how much i loved that run and yeah um I know that they, I forget the company that made the run of the figures as well during that time. They were kind of the light blue boxes. And I had the whole, I know Toy Fair had an exclusive Hush figure, I believe. But I had the whole, I sold those off, unfortunately, a long time ago. yeah yeah but still got all the comics like i wouldn't even know where to begin i think but between myself and jess i think we're the two uh we're the two who are not overly familiar with pokemon like everybody else here dc direct okay yeah uh yeah that's right that's right um so i wouldn't even know where to begin i would open up a pack of pokemon cards and just go cool here it is that one the lot oh yeah i got that cover yeah yeah that's about two hundred dollars yeah oh snap okay that's i got it wolf got in a collection i was like i'm buying that from you i don't i don't like the order off ebay so the only one on my wall that i've got off ebay is uh batman beyond i couldn't find it anywhere like the first appearance and uh i finally had to break down get off ebay a few months ago well maybe thanks as you're talking batman collectibles all right i know like i said uh you're wanting like batman lego specifically are you getting the uh the pre-order for the the lego batman history of the dark knight whatever lego game there i think the switch edition is coming with a lego batman that is purple colored like the sunsoft batman Oh, I got the game on PS five. I've been playing, but the switch edition is going to have that. So I was going to give you a heads up. I don't think it comes out until August or September. Sometime they're, they're reason behind. So if you're, you're wanting Lego or Batman collectible, there's just something to look at. If you, if you remind me, Derek, I'll look at one of my suppliers has a video games so I can look into that. I've already got my own supplier video. Yeah, no, you get it. He's also got a Funko Pop supplier, sir. I know Jess and I have been opening up a few packs of this year's WWE cards. We scored a couple of autographs. We got Eric Rowan and Nathan Frazier. Nothing huge, but that's always fun opening those up. It's crazy. Like I said, I have my boss, his son, he's like thirteen or fourteen and they're collecting the one piece cards, I guess the trading card set. He said they were in the store the other day and he opened it up and I forgot where the store was, but he put out apparently which was a nine hundred dollar card in store and the guy was like trying he's like i'll give you nine percent store credit and my boss and his son was like hey we're gonna get this graded and then see how that goes so they appreciate they appreciate they were like thanks but no thanks on that one but it's it's crazy like you know you know i never hear of anybody finding the cool stuff and then it was nice to finally hear it Yeah. Yeah. We got, we got some K-pop demon hunter cards in a couple of weeks ago and they're, they're really nice looking. I don't know what the value will be down the road, but they're really nice. So we think that can hit a different market of people. Oh yeah. That's definitely hot. One of the hot items right now. I haven't bought many collector cards in a year, but then like, I know magic, I think it's, they're coming off of it, but they did a teenage mutant Ninja turtle series with their magic, the gathering, which I bought a few of those, which were really cool. I like them. Magic has The Hobbit coming and Star Trek. Another Marvel run, I think. Oh, Star Trek. Yeah, I think, what is it, sixty-five years, I think, this year? That sounds about right, don't it? It started in sixty-six. It's forty for next gen, next year. Yeah, so I think it is sixty for... Yeah. Sixty for the original. Yeah. For original series. Yeah. Jeez. Yeah. But just the forty on next gen is enough. Yeah. That one stings. Yeah. Because that was the new Star Trek. Yeah. Yeah. We're still young though. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah. As I sit here and my shoulder hurts. Try picking up that Trinitron. We were joking in our members episode that, you know, they have a Trinitron that, that bow is forklift certified. So they may actually be moving around. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. My wife, Jess and I tried to pick it up, uh, yesterday and put it up on a stand. Yeah. It got two inches off the ground and we're both like, nope. No. We're going to have to have some more arms involved in this thing. They're good TVs, but God, they're so heavy. Yeah, they are. Yeah. We're going to have to wrap to give Bo a free Coca-Cola or something. The funny thing is, is like Brock was saying, we got this in an estate sale and for twenty five dollars. And, you know, we realized when we got there that the at the house that we got it from, they had it mounted above like a sitting in it was sitting in a cubby hole. Yeah. Like above a fireplace kind of mounted in there. They had a lip. You had to lift it over to get it out. Yeah. Took about five people to make it happen. Yeah. So, yeah, we tried to lift it. We were like, no, I think we'll hold off for just a little bit. Yeah, but as front heavy as those things were, you pretty much had to secure them in place just to keep them from falling over. I was joking in our member episode that my memories of that are not very fond because during the time that those things were big, I worked at Walmart and I would have to put those in customers' cars. perfect for the retro game aspect of it so yeah i just i gotta i gotta i still don't know where my nes is it's somewhere so let me just have to come buy one from you guys if y'all got any somebody i haven't met the show though yeah for sure yeah i had a really good uh good time shopping at one of the uh there was a dealer that was near us and had a bunch of old atari games and i bought four or five of them off there and i've been playing them over the last few weeks nice i miss those days he did good he he he bought some things when we were vending but he bought things that were easy to bring back home they didn't take it doesn't take up a lot of space so Yeah, highly recommend if you've ever thought about selling at any con. Definitely apply to be a vendor next time for Gadsden Collector Con because it was nice to come home with some empty totes. And a little bit of green in the pocket. Yeah. Yeah, we appreciated that. Well, guys, is there anything else you want to discuss about the con coming up? Oh, I had a question real quick. So you've got, we've got July, you've got your thing in October, still plans on doing another show in January, at least as of right now. And then we all try to do another card only show. Y'all did one of those earlier this year, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We want to try to do more card shows. I just, you don't want to do it a month before the con after it just, But we just got to figure that out. But yeah, the Halloween show and then January. I think it's sixteenth and seventeenth would be the dates. So yeah, we're definitely doing it. Yeah. Yes. And the card show will be moved into the main hall for the next one. Yeah. Also. Okay. And like Derek said, I really want to do multiple card shows. They're much easier to set up and handle versus the con. Yeah. But again, I don't think me and Derek, we kind of disagree on certain things. are we overdoing things or are we doing too much? But I think I like the fact that it just helps us advertise for each one. So I realize that everybody's not going to be able to make it to the July show, but maybe they're, they didn't make it, but they're excited and ready for the next one. So if the next event comes quicker than later, you know, it helps. And again, just helps us advertise for each and every one of them. So, so hopefully we'll at least get up to two card shows a year. Yeah. I thought it would like scratch the itch, like all the card vendors. Like I'm like, I understand we can't get a lot of you guys that just sell cards in the show. Yeah. That's why we did the card show. We were just doing cards. Right. I think we had more people apply that done cards. So they just, I guess we got to keep having some more. Yeah. Well, I mean, it's just it's only like you said, when you look at how it's just grown in the time that y'all have have been putting this on and doing this and we just, you know, just hope for continued success. You know, it's probably a good problem to have is it's like we got a buddy that has just opened up his first brick and mortar restaurant after being in a food truck and he's you know he's selling out he's having to close early because he sells out every day these are good problems to have right you're not throwing food away so you know yes i know there's probably some headaches that come with getting bigger but sometimes it Their biggest headache is me. It's good to see the continued success. It seems like y'all get a little bigger with each show. You're doing it right. Exactly. I think so too. Being a participant, somebody who came to be there to purchase from vendors and then Just the feeling you got as a participant in that and what y'all were putting on, I was very impressed. And also, too, hey, y'all for free parking, too. Yes. That's something I want to talk about. Not just the free parking, but one of the things I wanted to talk about was you know, like we are a family friendly show and we're super affordable. And, you know, in today's, I feel like today's society, like, parents not every parent but like some parents just don't want to take their kids to enjoy this kind of fun stuff you know like yeah when i was a kid i could go into a toy store and just be surrounded by this stuff and how much fun it is right and i just really want to say like parents out there like i know you may hate it for two hours or what an hour however long you stay but i'm telling you your kids will love coming you're making a memory you'll make a memory Walking around, I mean, I couldn't imagine being a young kid just walking around and just soaking it all in. I mean, it's so much fun. And kids twelve and under are free. Like I said, we're super affordable. It's free parking. You're going to have a fun day. And most of the money you spend is going to be on your child souvenirs or gifts and stuff. So parents, give us a try. They will love it. Yeah. Yeah. See, Adam says kids coming up and being in all of my booth is always fun to see. Yeah, absolutely. And it's easy for adults to be in all of your booth too. Yeah. And so I said, I agree on both sides. I mean, as far as a vendor. I feel like you treat your vendors very well and you have a good relationship with them. And then, like I said, the people that come to spend their money. I mean, it was a positive experience on both sides for us to be a part of it. I want everybody to do well. Obviously, some are going to do better than others. Right. And yeah, I mean, when I reach out to people, like to the vendors, I literally individually text every single vendor. So I don't have like a mass send out. So I probably start tomorrow. I have to text everybody, which is, you know, a hundred and something people. So. And you've learned being a vendor at other, when you go set up at cons and being a vendor yourself. So it's, it's, it's experiences and learn things that you take from your experience as being a vendor with somebody else that's running a con. And you, you know, you take that into what y'all were y'all y'all take that in as learned experiences for what y'all put together. Yeah. I try to take all the best stuff I've learned and just put it into the show. And we really appreciate all the kind words. It's a, It's so much work, but the day of, and while it's happening, it's so amazing. And then afterwards, you know, all the compliments we hear is just, yeah, it's filling. Yeah. That's great. Well, we love, you know, we, we love having you guys on and we love being associated with y'all. We love being your friends. You guys are two awesome, incredible gentlemen. And, and, uh, yeah, I just, we, we love being a part of this whole This whole world that you've created there in Gadsden, it's so much fun. And yeah, just being a vendor back in January, I'm introverted. I really am. But I had so much fun interacting with everybody who came by the booth and all. It's great. Abby, Corbin, thank you for joining the chat and the live stream. It says you guys are going great. I agree. And that's Abby that's doing the... The crochet? School supplies, ain't it? Yeah, she'll be giving out school supplies to kids. Oh, nice. That's good. Fantastic. Just another reason to bring your children. Yes, and we've got to get with her this week to post that, but yeah, I mean... she's she's doing a she does a charity event or or program or something every year and that's her deal this year is giving out school supplies so um that's great we hope we hope kids in need come and get that from her so oh good that's wonderful she's really just a whatnot pokemon seller i think she's just trying to get in early If you guys can't tell, Derek gives a lot of people a hard time, but they gravitate towards Derek about it. He's always picking at her. We also have our other partner, Terry. He does his stuff. He does the online. He helps with the website. He does signage. And then my fiance, who's just leaving, I think she's going to bed. She runs the show, basically, while we vend. And she does an amazing job. I can obviously trust her, so... Wow. Just a little over a hundred bags stuffed with school supplies and Pokemon cards for free. That's fantastic. He's like that. He's like that, that, that two, that two, two honest grandpa. We all, we all, you know, we all have that one member of the family. It's usually his grandpa. Yeah. but uh we also you know our staff john nancy and then everybody else that helps us uh andy's wife jess she's helped us at the last few we you know other cons they have volunteers we haven't figured out how to ask people about that we just pay people we take the people we trust we just give them some money so yeah uh but yeah my my fiance kylie she it'd be really tough to run it without her. She's, she's been awesome. Our first show was in that small room and it was just her and my sister-in-law and, uh, it was just them working. They were at the table and the line was all the way down to Buffalo wild wings. It was like that. We didn't know how it was going to go. They were slammed all day. Wow. Wow. Oh yeah. Yeah. Well, again, that's just a testament to you guys, all of you, and how y'all are running this. Yeah. Agreed. Yeah, we appreciate that. Like I say, it's just fun. I mean, it's stressful. These cancellations have been a little stressful. Like I said, it ain't going to affect attendance just a little. doing the badges i hate that the badges it's bugged me so bad well you know i sometimes uh as a collector you look for error cards or something like that just think of it that way yeah yeah this would be a rare collector's error card we we know not to put the celebrity we'll have a theme on each badge now but You live and you learn. Now you know why the bigger cons don't do that. I should have talked to Jeremy about that. Some of your comic artists that could design your badges, different ones. Andy's wife, Jess, she's a professional artist. I'd already spoken to her. We're going to get her to do something. for january for sure there you go yeah and this is the first time that y'all had a y'all have experienced guest cancellations and the time that y'all been doing this right so yeah yeah we've been fortunate enough till this point so yeah when it rains it pours right yes yeah but like i said hey tom he's coming soon so yeah we'll get that one set up so okay Yeah, I had just bought a Topps Heritage, like I guess they did a Sandlot thing a few years ago and it's official Topps. It was like numbered out of ninety nine. I like to get like numbered cards and it was like seventy bucks and then he canceled the next day. I was like, well. Hang on to it for next time. Yeah, save it for the next show. Well, you mentioned the weekend VIP passes or you said they're twenty. What are the what are the daily what are the other prices? They're so it's fifteen for like just Friday, which we just kind of did it as a sense of the five dollar and the ten dollar. Basically, it's just five more for a day early and basically like five or six more hours of looking around. We've got packages with key chains, stickers. They don't cost any extra. That's just part of the package. If you ordered online. We've got a hat package, which people have bought, like a weekend hat package. Also one with a shirt. Yeah, we're still trying to push them shirts out. There's two of them right here. Bo's got one. It's just still in the laundry. Yes, it's in the laundry. And then Saturday morning, what is it from? Is it nine to ten, Derek? Nine to ten. Ten dollars. And then after ten, it's five dollars. So the way we look at it is we want to make sure we provide that five dollar slot because, you know, there's even though some of our prices have went up, we want to make sure we keep that five dollar slot for anybody coming with families or anybody that just wants to come and have a good time. You know, they're not maybe they're not at the super collector, but they just want to come have a good time. We want to provide that five dollar slot. So, yeah. And that's, that's, that's a great price. That is a very, that is a great price for a day. A great show. That's a great, great bang for your buck for sure. Definitely. Well, all right. Anybody else got any questions? We'll in the chat. Let's see. Adam says, how early can I get him Friday to set up? I know Derek's going to mess up, but I'm impatient. Hey, shoot your shot. You're here. I'm messaging him last for misspelling. I'm going to invite Adam over to my house the week before the con. He's going to stay here for a whole week, just building up dioramas for my collection. And then I'm going to let him in early on Friday. He doesn't know yet, but it's fifteen minutes. He says rude. Rude? How rude? Oh, my. Well, again, July twenty-fourth and twenty-fifth and Gaston at the venue again is called the venue. At Coosaland. At Coosaland. That's right. I'm getting old. I can't remember everything anymore. But, uh, yeah. And again, uh, make sure you go to the website, Gadsden collector con and, and look for, uh, Katie's collectibles, uh, and, uh, Wulffton collectibles, uh, on social media. Yeah. We're like, you know, just follow us on social media so you can keep up. And also follow Wolf Den's Halloween Fest. What? For a good spooky time. This is William Shatner. For real though, follow us on social media. That'd be great. He's probably going to wear that around the con. Great. Yeah, and if you're in Gadsden, stop by Wolfden Collectibles. That is a fantastic store. It is. Appreciate it. Yeah, we got to get back up there. absolutely so well uh we're gonna wrap it up but if you got any last minute comments in the chat go ahead and drop them in there as we're uh doing our spiel uh you can also find all of us uh at bamageeks.com that's where you can find all the audio and video episodes what have we got some of the some of the workers tend to be rude Oh, but again, BamaGeeks.com is where you can find all the info about the podcast as well as on social media at Bama Geeks and on Facebook as well.
