Ep. 137: Spooky Season Is Upon Us! Halloween Preparations in Alabama

I'm tired of hundred degree temperatures in September. Do you guys remember, we all know the famous Star Trek episode where Kirk is fighting the lizard beast guy. I kind of imagine every year that's basically summer and winter fighting. Until summer eventually relents and lets us have winter for like three minutes. No, no. They let us have fall for three minutes. Then we go to winter. I don't really know when we really truly have fall. I don't know. Maybe if you're, you want to go Star Trek battle, it more be more like, it's kind of like Kirk and spot with the pond far, you know? Oh, Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey, calm down. It's only once every seven years. Yeah. Well, that's when we, we actually get a fall probably. Hey, the thing is, is it starts cooling off for us for a little bit and it's like, Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Tornadoes! Tornado season two. Get tornadoes on Christmas Day around here. Yep. Tornado Season Two, Trailer Park Boogaloo. I learned from Brock, because he learned from somebody else, that we're in an El Nino year. We're in a big El Nino year. Not just an El Nino, but like a super El Nino this year. They're saying that there's a possibility we may not even get any major hurricanes this year at all. Yeah, we haven't, though, because usually we've hit one about this time. We've heard about one, and I... The company I work for, that's one thing we keep eyes on is hurricanes. We always get one if we don't get in September. I always remember as a teenager, around homecoming week for my school, we'd always get one in October. Like a tropical depression, it would come up through the Gulf and it'd always dump a ton of water on us homecoming week. Well, you know, and the whole thing is like it used to be really kind of right there before Dragon Con time that something would happen. And, you know, I'd be like, hey, I got my vacation time in. Sorry. If things get crazy, I'm sorry. I've already got time off. Yeah. And in my professional world, we deal with weather, climate, other things. I won't give too much away. But The Alabama State climatologist, who is a friend of mine, was talking a couple of weeks ago about how the last time, the last couple of times we had the super El Nino years, we got the blizzard of ninety three. And then it was in sixty six or sixty seven that it also hit big. So he's like, we can't promise that there's going to be a really, really nasty cold winter. But it's kind of like Jim Carrey and Dumb and Dumber. So you're saying there's a chance. The trends show possibilities. Well, I mean, granted, I was younger, obviously, when the blizzard of ninety three happened. But I remember that it really wasn't that spectacular of a winter that we had. It was just we just had March week. Yeah, yeah. We just had that freak storm come through that just froze everybody. El Ninos are known to do that for sure. Especially the winter patterns get really weird and we get a lot of arctic blasts and stuff like that. Man, we're weather geeks today. man yeah man as we're preparing for halloween yeah but logo says alabama native we deserve some fall weather yes we do triple digit summer this year had snow last year maybe even this year hopefully logo logo you need to tell um father summer to to chill out then okay tell them that we now now look it's mother nature you know you know Tell them to chill out. It's father time, mother nature, you know. Which makes sense because dad's always got to be up early, you know. See, father time's mad because we didn't get rid of daylight savings time. Which they're trying to do. Well, my understanding, we'd let that go again and they're not focusing on it anymore. So it's like... Yeah, it's died down. Too many other distractions. Yeah, back to being dark at four o'clock in the afternoon. I don't mind. It just means I can turn my Halloween decorations on earlier. Well, that's true. I'm not a fan of darkness at four or five o'clock. I'm sorry. Jess has a little bit of trouble seeing in the dark. That's fair. I get that. That's a valid argument. Yeah. Well, yeah. We need to get you some of them. Like I've always seen in the infomercials, them, you know, the nighttime sunglasses, you know, that's what we need for you, Jess. Nighttime sunglasses, you mean? The night vision or whatever they are. You know, I'm talking about. They're like headlights. I wear my sunglasses at night. Yes. All right, Corey Hart. Never surrender. there you go oh so yeah so we're hoping that the weather gets better because October is right around the corner Halloween's right around the corner and that's what we're going to celebrate tonight uh my son and I were going through my storage building yesterday and uh Jess doesn't know this, but I got out our Bela Lugosi Dracula statue. Oh, I was about to say. What have you got stashed away in storage? I mean, you know. Yeah, we haven't had it out for a couple of years, but I'm debating taking it to work and putting it on my giant conference table in my office. Oh, that would be cool. Yeah, to celebrate October. Okay. But for the house, I did find our little pumpkin witch statue. Oh, yeah. Pumpkin Witch. Yeah. I'll bring her. We forgot about her last year, I think. Two years ago. She hasn't been out of the box in two years. Yeah. Then, of course, we've got some Elvira stuff. And we've got all the Haunted Mansion tombstones and everything that we need to. I don't know where we're going to put them. We won't put them out in the yard. Not in this neighborhood. Although, there's never been an issue in this neighborhood. I just like to say that because we've had people who like to walk through our yard. Yeah, but they're gone now. Yeah, thankfully they're gone. Oh, wow. Okay. That's a development. That's good. Yeah, yeah. We're in a moment right now where we don't have anybody living on either sides of us right now. And it's glorious. It's really glorious right now. We don't know how long that's going to last. Hopefully we can move before somebody else moves in. That would be great. But I'm looking forward to being like Kevin and Bo and just going all out straight on to the wall with... Halloween decorations. So that's what we opted to talk about tonight. And these guys are the Halloween connoisseurs. So I'm going to let them drive this a little bit tonight and Well, see, that's what I was going to say. Like I said, Logo Logo just threw a good comment in here. We will help out Logo Logo. It says, I feel like Alabama doesn't have a lot of spooky or Halloween themed attractions during October. Do we know anything good? Actually, there are a couple. You just got to, you know, it depends on, you know, depending on where you are. I don't want, you know, like I said, you feel comfortable where, you know, where you are. You know, if you're, we're all central Alabama. We're all around the Birmingham area. Yeah. So, so around, around Birmingham this year, uh, there's Alabama adventure. They're doing a fright nights or something like that. Hold on. I'll pull it up here. Like, so I'm going to try to like pull up websites as we go along. So yeah, most of the, and most of the big, like standard Halloween attractions have already started. Like, um, what's the one on leeds atrox i know they've been going through some training recently our friend uh barry perkins who we've had on with uh friday night frights uh barry and amanda brown they they do a lot with atrox and so they've started uh prepping for that Okay, he's around the Mobile area. Mobile area, all right. We'll see what I can help you out here. Let's see. I'm pulling up the Alabama Adventure as well. I will say, while you're looking that up, Bo, when the wife and I were out, we were doing antiquing around Heffal, we actually passed by a place called the Haunted Chicken House. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Very familiar with that. Yes. We've never been. Every time I go to pick up my kids in Georgia, we drive right past it. Yep. Is the plane upright or is it still on its side? Well, it's on its side and I think one of the wings is off of it. Yeah, that's part of the course. Okay. For anybody who doesn't know, oh my gosh, can we find photos of the haunted chicken house? sure you can call it i'm looking at them i'm sure they're out there not haunted chunk of cheese wait a minute wait wait wait did you say that raises more questions no no no google thought that's what i was typing out i thought you said chunk of cheese i probably did i thought you said chucky cheese i was like wait i tried to say chucky cheese I thought he said chunk of cheese. Hey, look. Look. Depending on how lactose intolerant you are. Yeah, that could be a horror story. Well, Meta's having problems because I'm trying to... Yeah, I noticed that. Meta's having problems because I'm trying to load up their website and Instagram because I was going to show the Alabama Adventure, but since we're going to go more towards where... We're trying to pull stuff up. Okay, Logo Logo, look up. Granted, this isn't a Halloween attraction, but you guys have a Loda Art Walk. coming up on october tenth a white um it's called loda l-o-d-a art walk oh that's coming up and they're going to be celebrating um halloween and i'm seeing that they've actually got some really cool halloween stuff that they're going to have so they've got a monster ball at the emplorium explorium emplorium jesus explorium um phantoms at the fort on october twenty-fourth You've got the City of Mobile's Mobtoberfest on October. Jack-o'-lantern Jubilee on October. You've got a lot of stuff going on this year. Absolutely. Absolutely, Logo. Haunted Chuck E. Cheese reminds me of Five Nights at Freddy's. Absolutely. By the way, Bo, since you just went to the Hoover Spirit Halloween, did you see the giant Freddy Fazbear? Yeah, that thing was impressive. I'm going to tell you. Five Nights at Freddy's is great, but let me tell you, if you want a movie that's like Five Nights at Freddy's, but to me, maybe a million times better, Willy's Wonderland, Nicolas Cage. Yes, and he never talks in it. He never says a word in it. He never says a word in it. It's amazing. All acting. Oh, it's wonderful. It is wonderful. I agree a hundred percent. Yes. He, uh, it's basically, it's, it was like, it was like, you know how that movies around the same time, same time get made. Well, it's the same thing. He's like, uh, I think he's like, uh, I don't know what you would call him. He's like the mysterious man character type. He apparently, but a bunch of bad guys basically take him and they lock him in this haunted pizza arcade place. And yeah, oh yeah yeah okay is is it streaming somewhere right now it was on pluto last year i don't know if it still is or not but yeah definitely watch it's worth watching like okay it's very enjoyable we love nick cage oh yeah this one this one's good i guess it doesn't say a word the whole movie i think wow okay no no he doesn't he doesn't i remember being amazed by that because i mean he's such a powerful actor anyway i mean he doesn't need to really um So it's a really good movie. I would definitely recommend it. It's been a couple years since I've seen it. I see here, I was looking down for Mobile. Here's the Boo Bash by the Bay. It's at the actual Battleship Park. It's a trick-or-treat costume contest, live music, food vendors. Let's see. Best single-day family Halloween event for Mobile. Boo Bash by the Bay. It says it's Saturday, October, October the fourth. Say that five times fast. Boo Bash by the Bay. Bobby Boucher. There you go. And the c-c-c-cooler. There's a free city event. This is the Mobtoberfest. Mobtoberfest, everyone say it. They're trying to put Mobile and October together. Mobtober, yeah. Yeah. But this is a free event. This is on actual day of Halloween, October thirty-first, one to five. What day is Halloween fall on this year? I think it's Saturday. Seriously? I need to tell you guys something. Back on Spirit Halloween. Back on Spirit Halloween, okay? Back on Spirit Halloween. they have you know where the uh the the shops at grand river is and leaves this right now they have a spirit halloween this year yeah first one to open this year i think yeah oh that thing is nice i was in there like the second day after they opened because it's convenient to me sometimes during the during the work week yeah jess is trying to find the he-man sword for me yeah i didn't see any of the master universe stuff that ours but y'all look there too yeah Okay, so hot take. Okay. I mean, I love walking in a spirit, and I love looking in a spirit, but I'm not seeing anything that's been like, boy, I've got to have this before I walk out the door this year. Now, they have Dungeon Caller Carl merch this year and stuff that I kind of want, but nothing. Yeah, you're right. It's really not been that incredibly impressive, honestly. Yeah, yeah. I walked in and successfully walked out without buying anything, which is kind of mind-blowing. I mean, the animatronics are cool, but I don't have animatronic money. Or animatronic space. I mean, I don't do scary Halloween. I don't do scary things, really. Yeah, I do spooky. I love skeletons, like everywhere. The Jason one they had, well, it was at the Hoover store. Yeah. But it wasn't too bad. I mean, it was kind of awesome. But, you know. Xenomorph was a little. Do what? Did you see the Xenomorph? As I say there. Xenomorph. Yeah. It was across from the Freddy Fazbear. Yeah. It was kind of around a corner. Y'all may have walked by and not noticed it. It's intense. It's not the best, but it's really cool. It looks intimidating. Yeah. Yeah. yeah i want the first time i hit the button on his mouth didn't come out and i was like well that's kind of sad that i hit the button again and then it actually opened and it came out okay just it was sleeping okay yeah Do we have another comment? No. Have you guys seen any current scary movies like Obsession? I have seen it on the Fandango streaming app. I have Obsession queued up to watch. I have watched it. I saw it in the theater. It's very enjoyable. It's the cliche, be careful what you wish for, but the young lady, I cannot think of her name. She plays the girl that's The, uh, the, uh, unfortunate, uh, the gain away unfortunate, but she is also kind of the villain slash unfortunately, but she, she does a very good job. You know, I've, I've heard good things about it. I've not watched it, but yeah, we, Jess and I really tried to, to pile up a lot of horror movies in October. We we've, we have all like the old universal monster movies that we need to pick back up on. Yeah. And I recommend obsession of movies that are considered, I guess, scary or horror. I know I've seen I've seen Obsession and I saw Backrooms. Backrooms really. It's not terrifying, but it's more suspenseful. So I recommend Backrooms. Psychological. Yeah. Psychological kind of horror. Yeah. Yeah. I've kind of done a one-eighty horror movies now. I was going to try to see it this weekend, but I may try to do it later. I think after enough interest and reviews, I think I'm going to go watch Resident Evil. I've heard nothing but very good things about it, and i i you know that's good to hear i mean i we watched you know you finally watched weapons when it came i still need to watch that one oh my god weapons is so insanely good yeah yeah she deserved that oscar for that it wasn't any i really didn't know what to expect it's kind of like that kind of situation watching a movie um so i i was just like you know i had no I guess I have no preconceived ideas ahead of watching it, so I didn't really know what to expect. It surprised me, just the story itself. The story developed and what it turned into. Are they? They're doing her origin story. Oh, man. That's going to be good. We were talking about that movie today. Me and the wife and the kiddo may sit down and watch it because he's been watching some horror movies with us. Weapons. Yeah, weapons. It's more thriller. It's got some stuff and it's more of a thriller kind of thing. It's less scary and more thriller, really. Yeah. At some point, of course, we will revisit, uh, old Freddy here. Yeah. Yeah. I've watched Freddy since we did our big, big marathon of it, though, when we covered it, which logo logo go back. What was it? Was this about two years ago? We did our, our Friday, the thirteenth. Was it two or three years ago? It's been a couple years ago. Like we, we, we, like I said, logo, thank you for joining the channel. Like we we're spooky is important to us. But our friends were Friday Night Frights. Such an ingenious version. Did a watch along and did a censored version of it. and the sensor that they put over the area was appropriate. Also they, they're, they were a little put together kind of, well, as, as was described, it was like if Elvira and Peewee Herman got together and did a show, that's pretty much Friday night. Right. Not entirely sure what the future holds for them, but I'm sure they've got something cooking. They're extremely talented people and good friends. You know what I just thought of? Has anyone made a horror movie of the Mobile Leprechaun? We're going to say Mobile Leprechaun is an Alabama cryptid. I like that. Which Leprechaun was he in the hood? No, there's Leprechaun in the hood. Oh, yeah. Did you guys hear that they're talking about making another Leprechaun movie? After Space? He's coming back, apparently, to do another one. I mean... I'm like, okay, yeah, I'll watch it. I don't care. Yeah. It's Warwick Davis. Yeah. I mean, I'm going to watch it. I don't care. So, okay. This just, I mean, not to veer too far off the course, but you did bring up the, you did bring up the leprechaun. Yeah. And I saw a new story, al.com, that new Mardi Gras float would feature the Crichton leprechaun and local icons. So he's made it to a Mardi Gras float. Hey, I have a hat. I know. I have a green hat that has a white outline of the sketch. Yeah. It's so good. They embroidered into it. I love it. Yeah. I mean, it is legend. It is legend. Yes. So absolutely for better or for worse, it's a legend. This is a service we have not used. I'm going to jump back a couple of comments from logo use Fandango for October. Trust me. I've seen movies. I haven't had time to go to the theaters for at home. Thank you for the suggestion. We'll definitely look into that. It's, you know, it's in the, in the world we live in where everything is streaming and you can't, you hardly have, you have a hard time keeping up with where everything's at. It helps to have something like that. Yeah. So we appreciate that. And if you're always wanting any kind of out of the ordinary horror, Tubi seems to be a good place for horror. Well, and Shudder. Shudder's a big one. This is their time of year, right? We know Joe Bob this year, right? That's why we canceled Shudder earlier in the year. I have a hard time navigating through Shudder. It's hard to navigate. I mean, if you're looking for movies, yeah, but I know they have their live channels, but you never know what they're showing. It's convoluted, which I'm going to lie. It's very Amazon Prime. It's got better, but Amazon's navigation is... Amazon has gotten a lot better. It's miles better than it was. When they finally decided to just copy what Netflix is doing, then they got better. Honestly, really. Tubi is a good option as well. Did you guys ever watch I know I suggested it last year because it came out last year, but did you guys ever watch Glorious? It was on Shudder. No, we did not. I don't remember it. It's the one that has Ryan Quantin, the guy from True Blood. The brother from True Blood, he was in it and the whole thing takes place in a rest area bathroom. Oh. No. No. No, we did not watch that one. Now I remember what you're talking about. No, we did not watch that one. The title and location. We opted out of that, my friend. Dude, it's got J.K. Simmons in it, though. Bless him. Let him have it. He's yelling for Peter and not Parker. Yay. Nope. Let's see. There are stories in Alabama we can make for a good horror movie. Oh, yeah. Like the Mobile Leprechaun. Dead Children Playground. Wolf Woman and Mobile. All right. Porch Lore. Okay. Wolf Woman and Mobile. That's a bit harsh, man. I mean, she may not shave as often as needed, but don't call her a wolf woman. It's just like when Dana's floating above the covers in Ghostbusters, you know, when she's barking like a dog. Yeah, yeah. I did see that Birmingham area, of course, we talked about H-Hawks, but there is something, I'm assuming this is the first year that this has been done in Birmingham, but conjure haunted attraction yeah where's that website pulled up it's it's in birmingham it's in the downtown area um it is uh yeah it's they have a youtube video but i don't know how this would you know i don't know how we want to watch it on here but this this is their website i got it pulled up i had that pulled up earlier before we started Man, what I wouldn't give for Sloss. Fortieth Street North area, which is, it's down, it's kind of off of I-Twenty there. Yeah, they have a, yeah. That logo looked like Papa Shango. Yeah. Look, if they brought back Sloss, they should just call it Tetanus. That's the name of it. It's Tetanus because you look at Sloss and it's like, I feel like I'm going to get Tetanus for looking at this thing. It says, Conjure is Birmingham's newest haunted attraction and only haunt with Birmingham within the city limits. Conjure is located, yeah, like she said. Go ahead, Jess. No, yeah, I was going to say, I mean, it's close to the downtown area. It's within that area. There's a lot of creepy stuff in downtown Birmingham. I know a lot of old haunted places and things, so it'd definitely be easy to do. Well, yeah. And then they also have the Birmingham Ghost Walk. I know that they do that. And then, you know, there was that year that we also went to the Homewood Public Library. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Go back and look at our video on the Homewood Public Library. For sure. We did a walkthrough one night. Yeah. And I was really hoping that something would happen, but... Oh, yeah. One thing I've learned about, like I said, even like when in our days of Alabama Ghostbusters, we got invited to go to like an investigation at Sloss, which it's cool to be at one of those big, big investigations. But at the same time, like it's, I guess, too many cooks in the kitchen. So you don't really know exactly what all happens if it's, you know. Mm hmm. yeah i see what you're saying there yeah plus we're a fan group supporting a comedy movie so that's i guess like they there were some people that were actually kind of they some people thought it was cool some people were actually i think genuinely bothered that that we were there to like i guess antagonize them i don't know you know where we were just like hey we were invited we're having fun we like you guys yeah we're cool yeah we're just here to have fun we're down oh my but yeah uh i said like of course then i know like i said it's not nowhere near you their logo logo but another one of the uh the big haunted attractions which i think some of our ghostbuster friends have been part of is arc's mortis which is in killin which aptly is a good name for a haunted attraction location. Yeah. That's nowhere near the state. I'm going to suggest a place that they need to turn into a haunted attraction. Okay. It's outside of Jasper. You know, I should have went, I should have went by there for you, Kevin, while I was in the area. She was in Jasper yesterday. This weekend, yeah. You know, I don't think I didn't give it some thought while I was around. You know, when I crossed that old Walker County state, county line, you know, state line. For anybody else that is on the joke, it's a place, we're not going to say the whole thing, but it's a place that's called Wesley's. Yes. And if you look up Jasper and Wesley's, it'll take you straight to it. Look, there was some scary things, but it had nothing to do with ghosts, okay? No. Almost. Almost. But that would make for a really good haunted house, probably. Stuff that'll turn you white. Stuff. Well, all right, then. All right, so let's talk a little bit about haunted houses. Should we show the video of the bear? Yeah, yeah. Show that beautiful bear footage. Okay, Bo. I've got it ready. Bo, what kind of Halloween decorations have you done so far? Well, actually, we are behind on the times because I'm very, to the point where, like, now I'm like, some of it's a little aggravating. I'm like, I need the missus to help me to do this because, you know, I like decorating, but at the same time, it's also her enthusiasm. And there's some of that stuff I can't do by myself. The only thing we have up really right now is we have some lights around our front porch, which we were talking about. You were bragging about Walmart. We got some nice little orange LEDs. We're more fall colors than we have, like, spookiness. We'll probably hit full spookiness next week. I think the only inflatable we have out currently is our... Nightmare for Christmas Jack, where he's the scarecrow. We have an inflatable of it up. So we're kind of transitioning into it. I mean, we'll have it full up by October anyway. It's been a slow go. We've been actually a little busy. We just got lights and a couple inflatables. Yeah. And a few, like, you know, stick in the ground stuff. But nothing, we haven't got too serious about it yet. Which we have our twelve foot skeleton up all year round. I gotta highlight this for just a second. I totally agree. Yes. And also, yeah. Make high prices into a horror movie or haunted grocery store. It's very scary. You are correct. We need Chopping Mall, but it's a grocery store. When you're doing a horror movie, you're doing it as an escape. Right. We can't escape high prices. So that's really not funny. Or not scary. It's like reality scary, you know? Yeah, that's true. It kind of hits too close to home, you know? But I like the intention. Yeah. So usually this time of the year, I'm like going absolutely crazy doing decorations and putting up things. And I've moved into a new home, living in a different area now, and I will be unavailable. at a time during the middle of October, which is usually kind of a cardinal sin for me because it's my time. Halloween is like Christmas for me. It is for a lot of folks. So this year, We are already Halloweening up here, but we live in more of a, our house is, without revealing too much, our house is like mid-century modern. It's a late sixties model house. And it's got a very mid-century modern design. So we've gone with mid-century modern decor, like the old, If you guys have been to Target in the last couple of years, they've been doing a lot of mid-century, modern, large features and things like that. We've got a lot of that. And then also actual... mid-century modern decorations themselves, not just reproductions, like real ones. Reusing a lot of the things that I used when I lived in my previous home of like the lighting and things and trying some new things out. So the good thing is though, is that I will be back available to work on this again the week before Halloween. So I have a storage shed that I have all of my stuff in and I've actually went and reorganized it and I've got it ready to go for me to just pull it out like a bunch of Marines working on something. And I'm going to try to get as much of that stuff up as i can um before halloween because i you know i have to show that to get people ready although we were talking about this in our member episode before is that i'm going to give people the false impression that i do all this stuff for a week and then i'm done whereas next year is going to roll around and this stuff is going to be running like vegas for two months which is normal me, right? So I'm just happy to be able to do that this year, but we have a good presentation right now. Last year, one of the things that I've gotten into in the last couple of years has been antiquing. Like, you know, people go to antiques, curated booths, and then thrift stores and things. And one of the big things that I picked up last year was a vintage blow mold of a... Just a big pumpkin. And I'm telling you guys, if they had electricity in Lord of the Rings, they could have used this as one of the torches that live on top of the mountain to signal. Yes. They could have just done these things across. Granted, at that point, they probably would have had phones. But, you know, they could have. Seriously, this thing is incredibly bright. I love it. But it has its own lighting value and effect as it is. Yeah. We'll get more and I'll see if I can post some pictures to our front porch area as well. I usually do it every year. Yeah, it's coming together. It's looking nice. Awesome. I cannot wait for us to be able to move and feel more comfortable with doing this type of stuff. This is one thing that I miss as I'm heading into my near retirement years. I got to find stuff to do. Yeah. I will say, though, I saw earlier that there is a group of scientists that are trying to market a device that kills mosquitoes with lasers that looks like a laser show. And I'm like, I want one of those. Sign me up for that. Yeah. I want to get this, and I just want it to be like Halloween decorations. I would do it for Christmas, too. Just blah. It's like, what is that? It smells like ozone. It smells like dead mosquitoes. Yeah. Because you guys know I'm one of the ones that, you know, if you don't want to get bit by mosquitoes, just stand next to me. Because they're going to bite me. You're going to be looking like I have my house themed up like asteroids. Yeah. Pink Floyd. You know, just put on the Pink Floyd album and you'll have a laser light show. Oh, yeah. Okay, because of Final Destination, I still will not follow behind a log truck. Dude, that's traumatized our generation. Yeah. Kids these days don't understand it. I'm like, oh, we got a movie to watch. Did they have one that wasn't the last one they did where it was at a NASCAR event? That was the next to last one. I lost count. How many Final Destination movies have they cranked out? A few of them. Enough that there was no Final Destination. Yeah, you're right. Yeah, there's been no Final Destination to the Final Destination movies. It's like death apparently really sucks, okay? And I know, like I said, I know we're jumping on top, but you were talking about decorations. There is something here I'm eyeballing at Michael's that me and you, we talked about candle warmers, Kevin. Okay. This is right here. I'm going to pick this up when spooky season, when it goes on clearance. What? Oh, that's cool. Sorry, you just got me thinking about it for decor. Yeah, I've got to... And that's a warmer? Yes, the light is up inside the skull. Like, I want this for just regular, like... Is it like a UV light? Yeah, I think it's like an intense light. Okay. Dude, that's sick. Yeah. It'd be cooler if it was red. Yeah. I don't know. I mean, I'm nitpicking. But yeah, that's pretty sweet. Oh, also another haunted house. It just was reminded in the Fultonville area as Nightmare at three zero zero eight. I have friends that work up there as well, too. So there's another haunted attraction, haunted house thing. Wasn't there a warehouse? Warehouse thirty one. Yeah. Warehouse thirty one. Yeah. That's out in Pelham, isn't it? In Pelham area. They still do it. I think so. It's still listed here. Yeah. Like I said, right now, meta is apparently meta is having problems because that's where a lot of the stuff has gone to, but well, no, here we are. Yeah, no, it's up now. Yeah. That's because they probably, they launched that new AI and it's probably trying to take over. I will tell you, uh, if you are up around the Nashville area, definitely check out our friends, uh, Phil and Jamie at Halloween hollow. Yep. Yeah. Yep. They are getting things underway there. Yeah. Warehouse thirty one is in Pelham in the Pelham area for Birmingham. There's another way there somewhere down there. What was it called? Recommended. Was it Sweet Dreams in Mobile? This other frequently spot I'm looking off of here when I pulled your sweet dreams mobile. So let's see what we can find for that. And while Bo's looking at that, since Brock broke out of the state with mentioning that, we were talking about in our member episode something really cool in Ohio. There is a theme park up there called Cedar Point. You guys may have heard of it before. They actually have a fully licensed Diablo attraction this year. Like full Diablo, like the video game. Oh, there we go. The Sweet Dreams Haunted Attraction in Mobile. That's a misleading name. Yeah. Your worst dreams come alive this October at Sweet Dreams Haunted Attraction. Sweet dreams are made of cheese. Oh, it's in Mobile and Pensacola, so that's kind of neat. Who am I to disagree? Ha, ha, ha, ha. Ha, ha, ha, ha. What was that haunted cheese we said earlier? Yeah, haunted, yeah. Haunted chunk of cheese. Haunted chunk of cheese. We're just full circle here. It's okay. Oh, my God. I love it. They put in Pensacola, and it's like Pensacola is, isn't that like the joke that Pensacola is all old people? Pensacola was, though, like for Godzilla vs. Kong, that's where Godzilla made Landfall. I think so. I was like, of all places, Pensacola, Florida? Nothing against Pensacola, but that's just odd. He just wanted to see the Blue Angels, man. It's the home of our tribal chief, man. Look at Blackout. That's me whenever it hits Thursday at work. Our Blackout experience is designed for you to rely only on your senses. You and your group will enter the maze in complete darkness and rely on only sense of sound, smell, and touch to escape the maze in five minutes or less. The maze will require you to use your hands to guide you. You may experience ducking, stepping over, and or squeezing through strange obstacles. Man, Brock and I would be messed up between my vision and his hearing. I can't see. What? I can't see. What? I'm not going to a haunted house and letting them turn the lights off. That's not going to happen, okay? Which made me think, you were talking about horror movies, it just made me think with Mobile, I think a majority of it was filmed down in Mobile, but it's Oculus with Karen Gillum. Yeah. Really? Oh, yeah. That's a horror movie filmed in Alabama and down from that area, so logo, logo, if you want to check that one out. Also a horrible product you get from Meta. Oh, yeah. Are they still calling them Oculus? I don't know. I think it's the quest now. Is it? But yeah. If you want a good tourist trap. If you go up to Chattanooga, which is only about two and a half hours from Birmingham, Ruby Falls is doing ghost lantern tours inside the falls where it's lit by nothing but lanterns. I really want to go do that. Rock City's having a Halloween pumpkin something up there too. They were advertising. They're doing that. That would be a good thing to carve into a pumpkin. See Rock City. Yes, it would be. So, hey, you were talking about the mobile in movies and we were just talking about it said Final Destination. Two thousand and nine. The fourth installment, the fourth installment of the Supernatural Death Stalking franchise filmed its explosive, bloody race tracked crash opening sequences at the Mobile International Speedway. OK, yeah. One other one I want to mention. Oh, yeah, yeah. One other one I want to mention. If you're willing to travel just a little bit, Logo Logo, it's closer to you than it is to us here in the Birmingham area, but Hattiesburg, Mississippi, they have a really cool antique place there called the Lucky Rabbit. Oh, yeah. Go. They always do something. It's not a haunted house, and you don't have to paint it. You just go in and you get to see all the cool antiquing stuff. Right now, I think that they're getting ready to change it out, but they got the Goonies there now. And then they always do like on Friday nights during October, they basically shut the whole street down and they do basically like a Halloween festival every weekend. It is amazing. And that place, the only thing I will tell you is just make sure you bring some money because you're going to buy stuff. I believe they are redoing the Beetlejuice set. They're putting it back together. It is so worth going. You know when you go... I'm not saying that we... I'm not saying when you go to Halloween attractions, you don't feel the love and you don't feel them putting their effort into it, but everything about Lucky Rabbit, they always put their best into it. I don't know who... You go and ask them, they'll tell you who puts their... They had a Golden Girls set that was amazing. I would highly recommend. If you're up for a small road trip, Hattiesburg would be a really good one too. Absolutely agree. Yeah, we've definitely need to go back at some point, at least when the weather cools off, because they made a post today. They were like, yep, it's still hot and our buildings are not air conditioned. But, you know, just keep that in mind if you still want to. Yeah. Yeah. People are still going, though. So, I mean, they're. Yeah. I enjoyed the little trip we made over there. It was fun. That was a good, good day. Um, I bought some socks at dragon con. It's a got a ghost on it. It says I ghost people every day of the year. Yeah. It was perfect. Yeah. I look forward to wearing that to work very soon. We mentioned when we got to meet him that Days of the Dead, talking about being from Alabama and him being in that area to film the movie. They are showing Hocus Pocus at the Alabama Theater on October the twenty third. And the Phantom of the Opera showing will be on October twenty fifth. So I thought and I don't see it now. I thought that they were going to do practical magic. Are they not? I want to say, yeah, there was two movies. Yeah, it was Practical Magic and Hocus Pocus. Yeah, but I don't see it now on the website. I wonder when the release of the new movie, the studio was probably like, hold on. Could be. Could very well be. They've run into that before. Okay. Isn't that one that it was kind of weird. They didn't know they were going to release it and then Wasn't that with Practical Magic, too? Wasn't that like they didn't know they were going to release it for this this year or something like that? I don't know. I don't know. I didn't even know they were making a sequel to it. I don't think honestly, I don't think I've actually seen the first one. I haven't. I have. Yeah, it's actually pretty good. It's not a bad movie. Yeah, it's pretty good. I heard the second one was kind of me, but I mean, I'll watch it. I mean, I like the first one. Yeah, I don't think this has a second one even come out yet. I don't know. But, yeah. It's still a thing down there. Very true. We'll talk to people that are in Canada. They're like, yeah, it's just starting to break into winter and then fall here. And I'm like, you better shut your mouth. Because I'll ship you some of our heat up there if you want it. No way, man. Then I'll be going and doing a company trip. Yeah. Doing a company trip in January and going to Michigan. So it'll definitely be cold there then. Oh, don't do that. I feel you. It's been a long weekend.
